Aradune was only marginally higher pop than Rizlona during classic-velious and hasn't been higher since Luclin.

Gaslighting is a form of manipulation that often occurs in abusive relationships. It is a covert type of emotional abuse where the bully or abuser misleads the target, creating a false narrative and making them question their judgments and reality.

Machen is like...Gaslighting ...without a purpose? This is a a complete fabrication. Whats the point? My dead server is better than your dead server?

the defining feature of rizlona is allowing software that automates a massive number of characters. I don't want to alarm you but there's a chance this has an affect on the number of logged in characters

How is what he said gaslighting? Also, calling either server dead when the one you play on couldn't even make it LDON before hitting consistently lower population numbers than either Aradune or Riz is a big oof. Dead server walking

You can't really look at Thornblade the same as Rizlona at all. We can moved Bi-directionally to/from Mischief whenever we want. This allows a trade route for players, resources, and will ultimately be combined. But you know that.

There is no merger on the 2022 roadmap for TB. The mere fact that there may be one only after 2 years of its launch proves it was a DOA server created because devs listened to ignoramus player outcry on the popularity of free trade and random loot. It was a bad idea then to make a twin server. It is a bad idea now. TB should have been its own unique ruleset from the get go.

You think that server can last another 15+ months for its probable merger? I don't. At the rate it's going people will need to transfer off it by end of summer because it will be a ghost town seeing how TB barely has Mangler level populations and that TLP is 10 expansions ahead.

Thornblade will 'survive' only because it has mischief to prop up it's economy. Think of Mischief as California and Thornblade as a flyover state.

Aradune is a dying server. It has the worst ruleset of any current TLP, which is basically a phinny clone, except with a terrible imaginary boxing rule. Rizlona has a super stable population, mostly due to its ruleset. Rizlona will probably remain one of the most populated TLPs (probably just behind whatever the new hotness is) for a long, long time.

the magic of rizlona is no one will know or care how many actual players are there because kiss assist will keep things moving.

Everquest ruined itself over time. There's way too many currencies. There's too many extra systems (e.g. tributes and augments). Old zones are obsolete because of new gear. Equipment colors are obsolete because of dyes. Mercenaries ruin grouping. It's a total mess, and only the newest stuff matters.

That's what makes TLPs awesome to me. Almost every quest and zone can offer something meaningful (at least for a while), and you don't have to deal with live's jumble of progression systems.

Aradune's population is great. You should try logging all your boxes in over there.

From a purely selfish standpoint launching TB alongside Mischief provided one of the cleanest TLP launches in memory and was a great success. Server queue was nearly non-existent with no real stability issues beyond that. Of course the server has been headed towards a quick death and they are probably wasting resources on it, but it definitely succeeded in what it was put there for.

In a perfect world they would have just merged it by now, but why would they when they can milk the player base for transfer fees.

Exactly, the accountants at DBG won't give a second thought to how many players are "real" because they are all paying players to them.

The lack of the gaming industry ever releasing anything remotely comparable to EverQuest, so probably #5 - Lack of options.

I literally have zero characters on Aradune.

Social interaction and grouping for sure.
