So... with TSW gone I was looking for advice on raid tank AAs. I have been away for a while and am currently burning the night oil to catch up. I have my first 4 AAs and like I said, started looking for the best places for them to go. I feel AoE taunt is a good place to start. Any help is appreciated.

If you've just started, the list at should help and be the first 100 or so you get: https://forums.station.sony.com/eq/index.php?posts/5623/

If you're Bronze you may want to be picky about anything that's not continuous and passive defense or aggro generating. If you're All-Access / Gold, why aren't you using Auto-Grant? It makes leveling much easier.

EDIT: Definitely get Combat Agility and Stability 3. Natural Durability 3 and Physical Enhancement. And if level 59 or higher, I'd get all of those first. EDIT 2: Ooops, and keep Weapon Affinity maxed after those 3 AA lines.

Raid Tanking as a Warrior... Hrm. I would recommend you start with your defensive AA lines that are passive and going to help your survivability before working into activated abilities. You're looking at:

General: Combat Agility, Combat Stability, General Sturdiness, Delay Death, Discordant Defiance, Mental Fortitude, Mystical Attuning, Mystical Shield, and Planar Sta/Agi/Dex

Archetype: Armor of Wisdom, Shield Block, Slippery Attacks, Shielding Resistance, Fear Resistance

Class: Combat Proficiency, Combatant's Pact, Dauntless Preserverance, Improved Shield Specialist, Mass Affected, Myrmiddon's Defiance, Phalax of Fury, Physical Enhancement, Planar Durability, Shield Specialist, Sturdiness...

As far as the order? Well, some are much more important than others. Combat Proficiency would be the very, very first thing I would grab - simply because you just need the 30% mitigation provided by Defensive Proficiency. After that -- Combat Agility/Stability, Shield Block, Shield Specialist, and Improved Shield Specialist are vital. I'm not sure anyone would doubt those come first. From there, I'd probably move into your AC/HP areas, being Armor of Wisdom, Mass, Affected and its prereqs, Physical Enhancement, and such.

If you notice a general trend here, I'm just giving survivability passives to begin with. Here is the kicker - I can't give you an exact road-map on how you want to do this. I don't think anyone can. You may find after getting Defensive, CS/CA, Shield AA's that you need more HP - if so, run those lines. If you're having some agro issues, start delving into those passives (Infused By Rage.)

Anyone saying there is a perfect road-map is probably lying - it's best for you to 'feel' what you need the most and start building your tank accordingly for what you're struggling with. In the end, you'll find all of these tools useful - how you build towards that, however, is completely up to you. All we can do is outline what's needed and give some general "must have", however a lot turns into choice after that.

    Best of Luck!

short answer: anythign that increases your tanking(aggro/survibility) that is about 9k of your aas- the rest is fluff thats minor or not usefull at all

Thanks for the WB. I am currently a level 51 Ogre Warrior. Currently my account is free but I am headed to gold status of beginning of the week.I have just silver status Mercs at the moment. I'm not real sure about the auto AA and would like to choose which ones to take in the beginning.

You aren't going to find a lot of raiding below the level cap. Most raid tanks are nearly, if not max AA. Flip on your autogrant and focus on levelling up. I would suck it up and use a merc tank pre-70 because the J1s outclass player tanks in this level range in both toughness and damage output.

Around the early/mid 70's you can switch to a healer merc but try to keep it suspended as much as possible. If your AA's and gear are good, you'll get faster exp popping the merc for heals, suspending it, and grinding between refresh time.

The general rule of thumb is for solo exp grinding, to stick to easier light blue enemies that you can dispatch quickly. If you have a group, feel free to try the harder stuff, but keep the pulls fast, find densely packed areas and add fill your group with DPS slots the best you can. Unfortunately the way Warriors generate agro is terrible for this style of play until youre closer to level 100.

Through the 80's and you'll want spend a lot of time re-gear'ing and farming augments. This is tricky because you will be outclassed by most enemies that drop level-appropriate loot. Get a group, don't be afraid to get some higher level help or use mercenary tanks as needed. Fill in your weak slots with bazaar gear where you can afford it.

At 96 you get two of your best tanking tools - Krondal's Roar and No Time to Bleed. These are game changers.
