I have floated this idea around many times over past couple years and Again I would like to hark on this. The Casino needs to be updated. The Plat sink would be a great way to remove some of the inflated pockets that many have... it would also bring back some great nostalgia. The items I would love to see added would be: Breezeboot's Frigid Gnasher Mosscovered Twig Mosscovered Branch Sceptre of Disruption Mask of Tinkering Earthshaker Box of Abukar These item I think would make great additions, and none of them are game breaking (at least when you compare them to newer items) Anyone else have some items they would love to see come back and can we get the developers to listen to us and give us some items back.
Although I like some of the additions (you should have included a prenerf CoS) the last thing we need is yet another plat sink. They have been trying to remove some of the sinks because there were so many of them, we don't need to add more. Besides you can get gold tickets from the loyalty vendor.
I really just want a BFG... ever since they pulled the quest the day after I had all items I needed to finish (I have kicked myself for not staying up later and finishing it). I have been hoping we could someday see this items return. Its effect allowed a few people to exploit it, which is strange that they removed it, but left 3 other items with the same effect just not a clicky in game... they could of removed the effect and made it a nonclickie.. but again I just want it.
I am actually surprised they have never tried to use the look of the BFG again. It was one of the most unique looking items in EQ history and everyone seems to have liked it.
Now that gold tickets are free from loyalty vendors, I don't expect to ever see any additional rewards added to the Casino. Plat sink? lulz. The Casino was a plat sink at one time, but now it costs absolutely nothing collect those items.
I know that you can use loyalty points.. but even with loyalty charger maxed you still cant get points that fast.. and at over 900points a ticket, its not a great way to get free items. Most gold accounts just use for the plat bags anyway. I dont think we should give up on the Casino, as it was an amazing idea and one that should be supported, There are many many items removed from the game, that I feel alot of people would love to see come back (items from the 4 warders for the sleeper like the Gnome mask, etc) and other items that were removed.
The ONLY items that could be added to the casino, that are relics from yesteryear, are No Trade items (Guise of the Deceiver and Breezeboot's Frigid Gnasher are examples). Even that is not really great and shouldn't be done, in my opinion. But for the love of God, stop adding tradeable items to that thing. Let's not ruin everything in this game. Seriously.
the idea for some of those old items is nice, but earthshaker they removed for a reason, so how about a modified earthshaker, Notrade, and instead of earthquake, do the warrior discipline vortex blade or some other one. mask of tinkering does pop up at some events, rarely, but it's happened at a couple... they did add the illusion gnome to one raid drop though... but some of the items there are in need of updating or replacing... Rubicite Breastplate... even if it's not replaced, as it no longer drops, maybe upgrade the stats to make it more desirable... no level required, but a recommended level to let it have some use... maybe a potion of 1 charge "Expedient recovery" just like the veteran AA, but not on that timer... notrade (even on firiona vie) as something that'd pique the interest back to the gold tickets...
This is true, but I think we all see an easy way around this. Platinum Tickets. They could add a new ticket type that is not for sale from the loyalty vendor. This ticket could be somewhat more rare, but not necessarily so. It could be tied to the new added items only. I'm not advocating this, just pointing out that it could be done. Personally, I'd need a very nice item to make me spend the time in the casino trying to win it.
I'd like to see Firestorm Cape added. It's the only Troll illusion item in game and it only dropped for 1 week. Blade of the Black Dragon Eye would be cool too.
I thought the quest mob was still there - they just stopped the wooden plank from dropping. I'm pretty sure I read about someone who found the last piece in their bank and completing the quest a few years later.
He is not in game, they eventually removed him after I think that happened. I Like the Platinum ticket idea. Redoo the Casino so that only items with no drop tags and a few others with no drop tags added are obtainable with the Golden Tickets.. Then allow it to randomly also have the chance to give out a Platinum Ticket that when turned in can get you one of the Items that are not No drop, like the Sceptre of Destruction, the Box, the Mossy items, the Blade of Black dragon, etc... Might go even further and put in some of the No drop items and add like Heirloom to them. And to make sure that people dont just fill up there Inv, with items to get Platinum tickets you can make it so that when a Lore or duplicate item is being handed out and no other item can replace it that instead of automatically giving a Platinum ticket, set it up to 10% of the time give ticket, the other 90% it gives a Bag of Platinum. This would insure and even rare chance for the items to be availiable, while still making it profitable and fun for others.
This is going to sound crazyinsanebananas but the Shadowhaven casino should have unique items that are just as cool to get; not recycling old items as rewards.
Earthshaker could easily be put back in the game. You can't proc on NPCs that you do not have targeted, this was a nerf put in years ago to stop shakerpaging. So really nothing that special about earthshaker anymore. Gold tickets on the loyalty vendor do defeat the purpose of the casino. But no reason they couldn't add Platinum Tickets that are 1/2 as rare as the original gold tickets and put some new items as rewards for them.
The devs seem to have forgotten the casino. I asked if they would update it with new rewards on a dev chat years ago and the answer was yes. Still waiting 5 years later By the way people continue to use the gold tickets from the loyalty vendor as a way to get quick plat. They create a large number of free accounts and build up loyalty points for gold tickets. I've see the market for those rare items crash on Tunare. Maybe the devs could you know...do something about it.
All you have to do is offer your friends the plat equivalent to spend their loyalty points on gold tickets for you instead of plat bags. That's the highest price for a gold tickets anyone with brains has to pay. The lowest price is zero. Create X F2P accounts. Wait 30ish weeks for loyalty points to accumulate at F2P rate, then buy X gold tickets. If you had any old silver accounts, they're twice as fast. Choose whatever value of X that's worth your effort.
