It doesn't require a pause in the macro, if it's the only thing in the macro. For me, it's the only thing in the macro. So no delays required. Sounds like you might be getting too fancy with your macros. Tat
It's certainly not necessarily if you are only casting one spell (fill up the rest of the macro with the spell). However there really isn't a point of macro with one spell in it these days.
Never had tabbed chat boxes, don't understand the appeal. Wouldn't you be forever swapping tabs to make sure you're not missing something ? UI never bothered me too much, if I don't like it I fix it (been doing that pretty much since the UI became customizable).
