Saw this as well, hits at least a dozen people anywhere in the room. Only recourse is to use burns to kill them immediately.

Seems inconsistent with the rest of the event.

Happened twice to us, spammed Pseudopod Strike 186 times on engage

wow thats bad... is this a bug or is there some mechanic thats wildly out of tune causing that?

Yea unless somethings changed, we pulled it into the stacked raid and it went off like a death touch disco ball...

A clay Ooze spams Pseudopod strike on the raid when it's target isn't in melee range. If a range class pulled aggro, or someone was trying to kite it or pull it to the raid, that can happen.

There may be a bug determining what's considered "melee range" causing this to happen, however. Or perhaps if the tank went down and second on aggro was a caster or healer.

We thought the same, or that it was trying to target members of the raid on opposite side of event.

Then we tested it by popping a DZ and with only 3 in zone (Pally, Cleric, Chanter) and all 3 stacked on ooze it spammed. When Pally used Deflection, it didn't cast at all.

Adding to this since there is a patch next week and maybe it can be looked at.

We went in on live (shaman, zerker, monk) to see if there was anything we could do to get it to not chain cast. Everything from no buffs on tank (monk), Void dance (would be close to deflection as previously suggested), impenetrable, no damage shield, Z axis, out ranging it, pet tanking, kiting (it snares), standing on it, spreading out, line of sight.

Nothing we did got it to stop casting Psuedo and it hit us everywhere in the zone. The problem is not its target is not in melee range as the monk held aggro throughout and it blast the other 2 regardless.

The only thing we could confirm is its hatelist based which is maybe why others testing it did not get hit.

My assumption is its bugged. It casts the spell so often I'm not sure how it can't be.

There was one thing we could not test as we didn't have enough people. On our raid log it seems to hit 6 to 8 people at a time multiple times. I'd be curious if it hit the 6-8 furthest people or if its still random who it hits.

Just as a side note if anyone is able to look into this before the patch.

    Lucy has Psuedopod as
Melee Attack for 5000 with 10000% Accuracy Mod

The strike is hitting for closer to 15k a lot of the time. It would be more manageable being spammed if it only hit for 5k if that was an option for a fix. Obviously fixing the spam would be idea. Its been mentioned that another effect may amplify the damage of Psuedopod. Or maybe its able to crit the attack. Either way spamming players with 15k hits that have 60k +\- its basically insta death.

With this being confirmed was it looked into for a possible fix?

We did the trial of creation this week and every time an ooze came up in the rotation, it ripped through players like mad. The combat log suggested that when it casted psuedopod strike, each player it had chosen received a full melee round from it rather than an AOE damage effect. The hits were normal damage for its melee.
