When the UI switches video mode AND/OR resolution the UI layout is destroyed. When you try to switch back to previous video mode/resolution, the UI layout becomes even more corrupted. Chat bars, hot bars and many other UI elements loose their position, loose their size and layout. If you try to /copylayout to restore your UI to what it was, the game has already overwritten it with the corrupted layout. People put a lot of effort into they layouts, down to pixel perfect alignments... and it is maddening to have to rebuild when you get force switched to a different video mode/ resolution. People are posting just hit alt+enter when you login: 1. I shouldn't have to. 2. I've already accidently logged in today and forgot. This has been reported many times over the years by myself(various accounts) and I've seen others report it. It was an extreme annoyance until today, when you now force a video mode change to windowed mode on client start.
