I know clicking the "S" button opens the Combat Skills window. But it does not go to the specific Discipline or AA that you want. If you make a hot key on a hot bar and right click it, it not only opens the Combat Skills or AA window, but it goes directly to that skill or AA. Having to search for one skill or AA among dozens would defeat the whole purpose of clicking on a specific one, since you can open the Combat Skills and AA windows at any time by just opening them.
