Used to be when you completed the four missions in NoS, you would click Shadewrought Coin of the Eclipse and get rank 4 without having to complete Partisian of Firefall Pass, nor Partisan of Ruins of Shadow Haven. Now, doing the four missions (Paragon of NoS) only gets you to Rank 2. Which doesn't make sense considering Rank 2 is for completing Firefall pass partisan. Hoping this wasn't ninja changed without warning in some of the recent patch(es), and can be fixed
1 - it's based on progress of your prior progression ability/spell 2 - did you talk to the person to meditate on your previous learning to see if you get free ranks?
To further expand on Fenthen's comments... The dicho line (dicho, dissident, composite, ecliptic) has ranks. When you complete certain achievements in the expansion where a line spell is introduced, you get a click thing. Clicking it raises the line one level. A specific level is not tied to any achievement. You do not get rank 5 because you finished all the raids for example ... you just get one click thing that's the same if you finished all partisan and merc tasks. They added a thing where you could carry over the rank of the previous spell in the line to the new one you were getting ... minus 2 levels. So level 6 of dicho gets you level 4 of dissident. This is where talking to the spell vendor that Fenthen mentioned comes in. *If* you get boosted ranks from the previous version, you still have to do all 5 achievements to get to level 6 of the current spell. So you wind up with extra click things sometimes that don't go away (because you've already have what it is trying to grant). It is a little confusing. Your recollection is wrong about NoS missions granting level 4 of Ecliptic on its own.
If you have multiple achievements completed when you click it, then you get the max level that your character is flagged for (being 1 level per ach as above). Someone could not click the coin until all the achievements are done, then go from level 1 to level 4.
