Their servers likely got the welcome screen on first login when they came back up, hence the massive lag.
I don't know if it's worse but it's definitely not better. My whole guild was getting these little lag spikes, we weren't all getting them at the same time but everybody was complaining about it in /gu.
exactly the same as yesterday for me/not worse, keep getting a lag spike about every 20 mins, is making pulling and killing named mobs a nightmare for me on cazic when it happens to hit at the wrong time
Maybe if we type it in a larger font, they will finally get it: Get rid of the welcome screen for good. A friend of mine has already cancelled her gold membership over this.
