Question for those with more knowledge then me on this, for EoK and up should rangers focus on 2 hander's or should they keep going 1h weapons and bows??
Eok came out with AAs that brought bows ahead again. Rangers ran a 1hand weapon + tome of obulous while bowing. That was pretty much the standard through TBL until ToV came out with weapons that had sympathetic procs. Until you reach 110 and can start using a ToV 2hander, the best in slot setup would be Darkened Cone of the Mystics from hardcore heritage and an Invested Tome of Obulous from EoK raids. Both of those items have a sympathetic proc on them which goes off when you spam nukes.
I thinks its dependent on your play style. Back in HOT around level 85 I saw what headshot was doing to the lizards and that is when I switched to 2h and bow. I am not raid associated and do not want to be - so all those "raid" empowered items will be off limits to me forever. But if its of interest to you then don't count them out.
