A useful debate isn't supposed to feel that way, sorry. I felt I was making a clarification and then we digressed a bit. My clarifying point was simply that it's not okay, and probably (from logs) not happening, to bypass skill check calculations because of the many side effects. The rest is down the rabbit hole.
