Pre-Luclin, pre-nerf trinkets on Selo

In the event the ruleset for Selo doesn't change - particularly the start from Luclin - how will this affect pre-nerf items like Guise of the Deceiver and Fungus Covered Great Staff, et al? I would hope that these items are affected by time locks and not strictly expansion locks.

As, usually, an Ogre main I really enjoy having my mask if nothing else so I can fit in tight corridors. I would be deeply disappointed if we're going to miss this opportunity right out the gate.

As is appropriate for the hardcore raid race server, you will do without those items and suck it up.

You can't choose to skip classic and then want to cool toys from classic. that's just being inconsistent.

I remember these things being time locked and not expansion locked. Such as, Guise is a All/All clicky for like 120 days or something to that nature. Just feels expansion locked because it usually changes shortly after Kunark has been releasing.

I like how you're putting words into my mouth. Not once have I ever advocated for starting non-classic, in fact that's what I was looking forward to prior to the ruleset announcement. But seeing as I can do nothing to change DBG's mind, I roll with the punches, hence my simple inquiry.

I also have no intention of raiding this time around. I was main tank in KoVZ on Agnarr. Been there, done that.

Yes you'll obviously miss out on all the pre nerf classic and kunark items. You'll miss a lot when starting in Luclin. If Daybreak creates a truly casual experience on Mangler starting from classic then most of us will roll there and the few "hardcore" guilds that start on Selo will quickly realize how lame it is. I expect Selo to be dead after the first month. Mangler dead on first day if things don't change

This is a good question, and in my opinion the obvious would be to remove the nerfed items from the game.

The server will be done all expansions in like a year. In the meantime, buy dark elf/gnome pots.

This quote is from May 2016 when Phinny server was approaching the end of the guise dropping. Unless something has changed (doubtful) then the window for pre-nerf items is based on the server's age, not the newest expansion era open. Previous TLP's had about ~120 days for guise.

I'd gladly give up a guise for playable server tbh.
