Been trying to get a feel for what the rest of the server will be doing and would like to steer our guild in the right direction so that PuGing will be possible. I'd love to know what some of the other large guilds on the server are doing and follow suit.
The only people I have heard a preference from, wanted to go Dark Reign. But really, it doesn't matter that much. You'll max your faction soon enough. You can always sell or trade the crystals to someone who did the opposite.
People generally go with whatever faction their guild picked. Your starting faction with good or evil camps will depend on what deity your character worships.
