Did what I think just happen, really happen? I cant proc Guardian heals at all. No patch notes mentioning anything about guardian heals. Anyone else experiencing that since todays patch?

Yep, as far as I can tell it no longer procs on knight's return strike, and only heals when you actually hit the bash button, making it worthless for any kind of swarming now. I just did a mini swarm of 25ish mobs in fear itself and got dropped like a rock because it only healed the one time I hit bash, checking log.

yeah, doesn't appear as if vampiric strike from soul of the grandmaster or healing burst on shield are procing off of riposte bash anymore either. Lame, especially since it isn't in the patch notes. The number of changes to the game recently that have not been mentioned in the patch notes is disturbing.

Yup. It appears they changed the mechanics of how ripostle triggers healing effects, and other abilities. It is also other classes that have been affected. I am hoping this was a unintended consequence of this patch.
The only reference on the patch notes i can think of that might hint about a nerf is this,

    **from patch notes:

"The way that spells and abilities that protect against a percentage of incoming spell or melee damage has been adjusted to more accurately calculate the amount of damage each buff will protect you from and select the best option.
    - - Previously, the buff with the highest percentage was always considered better, but this behavior did not account for the amount of damage being done by the hit relative to the maximum per-hit protection that these buffs offered."

Another friggin patch that will only piss everyone off. T

    Not sure if you caught this in the patch notes sandwiched between the consolidation AA updates;
"Paladin, Shadowknight - Reduced the effectiveness of Knight's Sedulity from 5% to 4%."

There was a change/boost to Shield Specialist, more damage dealt, not sure how that will effect things, but you cant DPS when you are dead :)

I'm not sure you understood how good this change is for tanks. You don't have to bother now to search if using an ability will be more detrimental than the other depending on how hard hit the mob.
To make it short, you will now take the least damage possible from the abilities you triggered.
  7. p2aa Augur

Oh sure, 1% difference is a lot.
So if you were getting hit for 20 000 before, the hit will be 20 200. Woot that's the difference between living or dieing.

You sir only have yourself and fellow pallies that like to talk about swarming on the forums to blame for this.

Like always, Sojero, you run your mouth without knowing the facts. they changed the mechanics across the board. You don't even play a paladin, and you play an SK at par, you think you know so much but you know so little.
  10. Linden Augur

How is this, good? A developed player is going to already know which abilities to stack, so basically it's watering down for stupity. I wonder if my gear items such as my belts are now going to not proc tendon slice on riposte as often. Most likely those items will be affected as well. This is not good. Not when my belt was able to proc tendon slice on 10 mobs in under 10 seconds. Yeah I'll take that over what little if any good this has done. Any gear item or ability triggered in the past by riposte has been nerfed. Basically.

Knights got an enormous boost in DPS this patch.

But... you want to quit because you can't swarm anymore?

Seems legit. Could also be a bug, did anyone consider posting it as such before freaking out? 'Cause SK Mortal Coil/Lich Sting still procs off riposte just fine.

Also, the rune stacking change is a good thing.

It was a thread specifically about angry Paladins, so I thought I'd leave out the whole Warrior dps boost thing :)

Best news I have heard all day!!!!

    WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

That is because its not a proc like holy/unholy is (btw sk unholy broke the same way it is based on weapon damage, no matter how that damage is done as long as it counts as melee.

Lol remember when I said that he was swarming with guardian in op proc mode and he argued that was only a minor factor. Lol

As it stands the change to riposte immunity drastically increased incoming dps in a swarm.

This is lulzy wtb ward of tunare so I can has swarmz
  17. gotwar Gotcharms

That makes sense, Unholy did appear to also be broken, but I'm not really an SK, just have one as a PL bot.

    Parry =/= Riposte

  19. p2aa Augur

    Warriors got a DPS boost
Knights got a bigger DPS boost (they got a new rank added in this patch)

Speaking as a warrior, have a look at this disc :
    Pain Doesn't Hurt
6: Mitigate Melee Damage by 100%, 1879000 total
8: Mitigate Spell Damage by 100%, 1879000 total

It was taking precedence on any other "Mitigate Melee Damage by X %" abilities because of the "100 %". There is a max hit limit though, which means that this ability was best to be used under Defensive Disc, because outside Defensive Disc, you could take more dmg using it if you fight Raid Boss Mobs
I was also getting the benefit of Spell Damage mitigation during my Defensive Disc.

If this change is working, then I will be able to click it anytime, and i will be able to benefit of the Spell Damage Mitigation also anytime, not only during my Defensive Disc time, versus Raid Boss Mobs.
