DBG should do what GGG does with Path of Exile and just make a short duration server where the main goal is to race through the content as fast as possible. Then hand out rewards when the set time period ends like Kronos, EXP Pots, Nimbuses, or even items that not longer drop depending how you place on the ladder. Just have everything open from the start and then people rush to see how much content they can blow through in a Month or even in only 2 weeks. Then when it ends, reset the server and start everyone over from scratch. This way people who wish to clear everything at record pace have a place to do this and also be rewarded for it and everyone who just wants to leisurely enjoy the game can do that as well. Everyone wins. You're welcome.

They offered it on the bogus TLP poll. Not much interest.

wasnt the poll only going to result in a single server? I honestly think both would have been popular. Who wouldnt want to see how far you can make it through the expansions in only 2 weeks?

They didn't offer what the OP is suggesting. They offered a seasonal challenge server without ever really telling us what it might entail.

Sort of, and this is where their polling practices fall short. The vote choice for Seasonal was grouped together in the same question as for whether it would be a faster or slower TLP server. That's really not a fair choice; everyone knew we were about to get a new TLP server, and voting for seasonal would have basically meant foregoing the opportunity to vote for the unlock speed of the new TLP server. Thus, true interest in Seasonal has not been correctly gauged.

It was one of the options on the vote. It lost badly. This has been done before by the way in EQ (look up the Discord server).

There may not have been much interest in the poll, but take a look at reality.
