Mount speed issue

    Hi,

Looking for advice - probably something that came in while I wasn't playing sometime...

My SK has the Abyssal Steed AA, which runs at a velocity of 75. Fine for solo travelling. I bought him a chain bridle today so he could run at the same speed as my other toons (velocity 64) so /follow works.

My chain bridle still runs at 75 - sounds dumb, but how do I slow it down to the speed it should be? Do I have to spend 1500 SC on the keyring thing? Seems a bit rich to spend 103kpp + 1500SC to slow my horse down...

My understanding is that, one feature added some time ago made all mounts travel at the speed of your fastest.

You will want your SK (fastest toon) to /follow your other toon (slowest toon)

Ahh bums - that's a pita (and a waste of pp). Thanks for the feedback though.

My SK is my main, so most convenient to lead - I mean, who'd follow a mage or chanty? ;)

Is there a mount that my other toons could get that runs at 75?

That is what the Mage is for though, run to a spot and CoH the rest of your toons :p

If you get a fast mount from the glowing black drum for golden tickets and use it once the rest of your mounts will be 75 velocity or whatever the fastest mount is...there are 6 droppable lore items and the drum and the Guise of the deceiver that are no drop. If you have the six droppable items on you, you are gaurenteed the guise or drum.

In all the time it's been in the game, I've never looked at the casino. I'll read up on it. Thanks for the advice! :D

White Ornate Chain Bridle is really easy to get during Fabled season, which is coming up sort of soon. It's a max speed mount. The trigger for Fabled Emperor spawns every (2?) hours or something close to that. Or maybe it's 1.5 hours. That's as opposed to the super long multiple day respawn timer on regular Emperor trigger the rest of the year.

There's also my favorite Whirligig Flyer Control Device from the anniversary task in Dragonscale Hills. Requires a bit more time invested though.

You now longer have to spend platinum in the casino for a chance to get a golden ticket. You can get one from the loyalty vendor, and possibly from someone selling in the bazaar. There are around 8 items you can get with the golden ticket, but only 2 (I think) are no trade, and they're all lore. So if you can get your hands on the tradeable items before turning in a golden ticket, you will get the mount with one or two golden tickets. If you can't get your hands on the tradeable items, then you can turn in golden tickets with your first alt until it gets the mount, then trade whatever is droppable to your second alt before it turns in tickets.

Gialana is right and there are ways to do this if you want to go that Casino mount route. Get a gold ticket from loyalty vendor for 960 loyalty coins, or buy one in baz where people usually sell them for 25k-75k. Now tickets are lore so you can only have one - not to be confused with other lore stuff here in a minute. So you go to casino and give your ticket to Jacob Thornblade who will give you one of these tradeable items:
Or if your super lucky you could get Glowing Black Drum on first hand in. The other no trade item you might get is Guise of the Deceiver.

Now if you don't get the drum then you hang on to what you did get cause they all are lore and you can only have 1 so you want to keep it in your inventory and find another gold ticket. Loyalty or Baz. Back to casino and turn it in and get next item which will NOT be the first one you got cause they are lore. Rinse, repeat till you get drum or all 6 tradeable items. You can also buy any of the tradeable items in baz but folks sell them for pretty close to what gold tickets sell for.

This can be simple or complicated depending on your set up. I use it because I have boxes and have collected the items over the years and keep them in a house to reuse between characters as needed. And that brings up another option for the casino mount which is to see if anyone will loan you the 6 items so you only need to buy 1 or 2 gold tickets.

The white ornate bridle can be had all year but is a pain to camp since is the 3 day spawn (+ or - 12 hours) . There are mounts in the marketplace for as low as $9 and change. Also check baz for "prize" as many have mounts from the old LON game they are selling, usually around 2mil. That whirligig is about the easiest to get if you can wait till March when the anniversary quest is cause everyone leaves the parts rotting.

Another fairly easy to get raid-quality mount is the Flying Imperial Sokokar from Final Confrontation (field of scale raid) - guaranteed one per chest on Normal mode and *zero* if you take the Hard option (ie don't take the Hard option if you are looking for a mount) You need six people in raid to loot the chest I believe. Six max-level players should have no trouble completing the event, probably fewer.

Wow - fab, clear guide. Thanks for taking the time to put that all down - much appreciated! :D
