I seem to be getting in trouble lately. Two babies at home. Lack of sleep. Whatever excuse I can sell. Anyway, I like to kid around and I skate a bit close to the line sometimes. Apologies freely offered if needed.

Please stop the insults. Dwarves drink ale. You lesser folks can have the beer.

Ale is beer that is top fermented. Lager is beer that is bottom fermented. That is the basic difference. Storage temperature is definitely a major factor as well.

In other words. Ale comes out on top.
