Is there a focus message in chat when you make a new pet? I finally got a usable EM earring last night, to replace my conflagrant one which doesn't work on pets higher than level 110. When I dismissed my pet and cast a new one wearing the new earring, I didn't see a chat/focus message indicating it used the earring to focus the pet. Being paranoid here, but how do I know it's working? Obviously, not a mage main Thanks!
I can not answer the message question without specifics. In general, though, to check if your EM effect is working - just /consider your pet, if EM didn't work it will be 2-3 levels lower than expected. Normally, an air pet would /con about a level higher than the pell level. Level 113 pet summoned with lvl 111 spell, lvl 117 pet summoned with lvl 116 spell. That's with group earrings from those expansions (since you've mentioned Conflagrant, I have assumed you got a group earring)
Thanks, that was helpful. Had a 115 water pet, it was level 116. Took off earring, cast the same pet, it was 115. Wore earring, cast pet, level 116 again. So, the earring works, I just had assumed it would give a focus message in the chat window, but it doesn't
