Not opposed to feedback but polls are easily manipulated and forum posts should not be taken as gospel. Many people who play don't even bother with forums.

Y'all seem to be forgetting that Thornblade is the OTHER free trade random loot TLP server that consistently maintains a LOW population. If both Mischief and Thornblade were high populations all the time then the argument for yet another server with that ruleset might be on the table but Darkpaw can see that market is being served by the current server lineup
  3. Critt Augur

No one is forgetting Thornblade the difference there was Thornblade didn't have truebox.
The facts speak for themselves, Mischief had the steadiest and largest amount of raid guilds and casual population of any TLP before it, there is no arguing that fact..

How many raid guilds were still active when SOD hit Mischief? Compare that to any of the other TLP's none come close... How many of the previous TLP's were still hitting high population this late into the life cycle... that's right 0.

What is there to be confused to pointing out that Mischief/Thornblade are the only free trade TLP servers? The reason the others have population issues is the TLP recyclers move to the new ones after the existing reach an expansion they don't like. If there was another free trade TLP server the players on Mischief/Thornblade would be doing the exact same thing. As it stands if they want to stay on a free trade TLP server the only choice they have is to stay on Mischief/Thornblade.

The fact that players are staying on Mischief/Thornblade and not moving to another TLP servers is one of the arguments for not creating a new free trade TLP that would draw the population away from the existing one.

Thornblade is the twin of Mischief there's not difference in the ruleset at all

Again, you are ignoring the fact that there is no other free trade TLP server for those players to move to.
  7. xxar Augur

Why do you need to move , what is wrong with staying on that server. If you like it so much , then enjoy that server ?
  8. Waring_McMarrin Augur

Because that is what the TLP crowd seems to enjoy, moving to the new servers so they can replay the early expansions because they don't seem to like the later expansions?
  9. xxar Augur

That sounds counter productive to DBG and the server you seem to enjoy.

There are plenty of "different" rule sets , the entire issue EQ1 has is at a certain point it is cannibalizing the player base.

This affects every TLP , instead I love to see a announcement of the 25th server will be the last server released in the foreseeable future.

This allows them to each play out and catch up to live and at that point consider a new TLP. The population at that point will revival any TLP but at this point it is dilution at it's finest.
  10. Waring_McMarrin Augur

I don't think that will ever happen as each year when they release a new TLP they get a large influx of marketplace sales, bag purchases and krono sales.
  11. Pikollo Augur

Ya Thornblade definitely has Truebox. We are trying to get it relaxed. It would give Thornblade a separate identity then Mischief. And not just the "low pop overflow" server.

Back in my day these servers were years apart.

Why was Ragefire the most poppin'ist TLP launch of all time? Because Fippy was like 4 years earlier.

Launches just don't get like that anymore..
  13. xxar Augur

That is part of the problem, the server's and character's are disposable.
There is no investment long term because of the constant cycle and that leads to the collapse of the server and of course this discussion again next year.
  14. Yinla Ye Ol' Dragon

    The servers are identical.

Thorneblade has always had a lower population than Mischief and that stems from the date of release and the issues Thorneblade had with queues not unlocking on launch day and allowing players in.

And Mischief is a cooler name :p
  15. code-zero Augur

I'm not sure that's the case. What I've seen is that a large percentage of them like really crowded zones where they're basically safe and can PUG with no difficulty. The only environment where that's possible is in the really old low level zones
  16. Waring_McMarrin Augur

How is it not the case when there is a clear cycle of players moving from a TLP once it reaches a certain point to the newly created TLP and it happens at around the same expansion every time?
  17. code-zero Augur

Oh a lot of them leave well before that. Back when I'd take a break from live I noticed people who didn't want to move on with the rest of the players to newer and higher level zones.

You have some who play a new TLP every year
You have some who play a TLP through to the end and then start a new TLP when they reach live
You have some who dislike a ruleset and skip it or stop early
You also have some who stop earlier in the year for RL stuff or live game
You aos have some that play multiple TLPs

A poll isn't really needed, if they just read their forum they would know what people like and dislike. Its evident this isn't the case at all. Having them abide by some kind of poll system would literally unravel the known universe as we know it. Your mom would be your daughter, your grandma, your cousin. Nothing would make any sense at all.... Like now... Despair.. Eternal..... Every TLP some kind of sick joke.
