is the Test server free to play on was thinking about boxing there if i didn't have to pay for multiple subscriptions?
Test is the same as live, except I can't remember if you get benefits as if you are all access without the subscription? I'm also pretty sure you only get the F2P expansions like live, so if you want to go into the 2 newest you will have to buy the expansion. Test server does have the benefit of a higher exp rate than live servers. Test is not guaranteed to be stable or available, and although the rules do state that test could be wiped at any point, I can't remember any times that has happened.
There are active players and guilds that call test home, so if you like the sound of it, dive in make friends and find a guild to hang with. Check with someone about the expansions, not sure what info is current.

Yes, the Test server is free. Yes, you can box on it. Bear in mind that it is a test server, used for testing code changes, and it can be suspended or rolled back at any time. You can copy existing Live characters on, but you cannot copy them off.
Also if you want to play the latest expansion you will need to purchase it. They used to provide this as another perk and IMO should revert back to that.
