has anybody else noticed that holy guardian heal sometimes does not proc at all. Am i the only one having this problem? shield out, i can see the blocks, am bashing, yet it doesn't proc even once.
I gotta say, your response surprises me. I didn't think there was any way this wasn't a bug that others experienced. This has actually been a problem for me since we got the disc. It's only recently that I've noticed that it has started failing often enough that it basically just isn't working anymore. The last time it worked in my logs was august 23rd. I've tried everything to make it proc and in one case i actually managed to get it working. I took out soul of the grandmaster mid fight, thinking maybe it is having some conflict with that. This bugged bash so that i could no longer click it. I removed my shield and put it back on and bash started working but it's cooldown jumped to almost 20 seconds. Holy guardian started to proc though. I then waited for holy guardian to come back up and tried it again and it was procing like a champ again and bash was working normally. i zoned and tried a different mob and it was no longer working. I went through the same thing i did before and it had no effect. I haven't been able to get it proc since. This parse is against a dark blue con undead in katta castrum deluge, a second joined mid fight but that didn't make any difference. This is the last mob i was able to get holy guardian to proc on. I have removed usasium, soul of the grandmaster, brell aug and have no weapon equipped. mostly just to clean up the parse a bit. It makes no difference to have them on, it still doesn't proc. We do have block it's just shield block. I do believe you are correct that is limited to the monk block ability and not the shield block ability as in the parse i did where it was working it is not procing off of shield block as far as i can tell. but not only was i bashing during the original parse, when i do get a parse where it procs, it procs off of riposte bashes regularly. once it starts working it works every time after that until i zone, then it stops working again entirely. I've been trying to find what causes it to start working but nothing I've tried has worked. this is an example of it procing off of riposte bash. After testing, here is the conclusion I've come to on how it is working for me at least. It does not proc off of shield block. It will not proc off of riposte bash until it has successfully proced off of a regular bash, once it has it will proc off of riposte bash with any subsequent use until i zone.
I agree, it is really odd especially if nobody can reproduce what I'm seeing. Can somebody try zoning into a zone, using holy guardian, don't bash at all, and see if it procs for them? It would be really nice if somebody could corroborate this, otherwise it is somehow unique to me and/or I'm just a crazy person.

It only works on bash attacks and repoistes. The really odd thing for me, is I don't seem to repoiste bash after zoning / logging in unless I successfully bash on my own by actively using the bash skill as an attack. I can parry, dodge and block, but not repoiste. I need to test this part more but I have nine of these dwarves that have been trying to slap me around for quite a while now without any successful repoiste bashes once I zoned out and back in again.
Over an hour later, with 10 dwarfs and 1 wolf beating on me non-stop, not one single bash riposte via a shield block attempt. Anyone know exactly how this should be working or am I just misunderstanding something about how that should work. It triggered earlier after an active use of the bash skill, but not since I zoned out and back in. Something is goofy and I don't know if it's just me or the game (50-50 odds on both options).
Potential bug notwithstanding, something is goofy with you if you aren't bashing constantly. I guess it is good you are that one person that doesn't want all of the benefits associated with bash or no one may have ever noticed As mentioned earlier though, block and shield block are not the same (they are two different spell types). I think there is a reasonable chance that the incorrect skill is tied to this for one of the two triggers.
I do believe it was me being goofy after all.... Normally, you can't riposte with your off-hand weapon / shield. Knight's Return Strike allows you to bash with a successful riposte. In my testing, I accidentally swapped out the Harbinger's Staff for a couple of rounds, so I did a normal riposte and Knight's Return Strike bash with my bare fist. It never did it again once I equipped the Harbinger's Staff again. This is how it should work. I just misunderstood what I was looking at. Maybe I shouldn't try and do this early in the morning, at a hotel, while traveling for one of my daughter's soccer tournaments. I'll never claim to know everything and I certainly remember less than I've known in the past, but what I posted can really make you look like a real dummy. I do think that there is a bug and the wrong skill is listed in the (Un)Holy Guardian Discipline. I believe that's the main thing that Josh was hoping someone else could help verify. The other strange case with riposte bashes will need more testing before I can verify that and I'll try to make sure I read my log files correctly the next time instead of posting something incorrect.
well, what is happening to me appears to be unique. it doesn't proc off of shield block, and that does appear to be an issue others have experienced. but that isn't the issue for me. the issue for me is that it does not start procing off of riposte bashes until it procs off of a regular bash. most of the time that isn't a problem but on occasion i go the entire duration of the disc without a single proc despite bashing the entire time. that has been super rare, most of the time it procs on my first bash and everything is fine, but still, it's frustrating when it doesn't. and i can reproduce this on demand. It's behaving this way every time. it does not proc for me until it procs off of a normal bash.
