Heals to trigger alliance

Anyone have an idea how many heals are requires to trigger alliance and how many to fully fumlimiliate.

With the change you really just want the base number of healers on each tank so not to waste triggers during the cooldown.

Every priest heal that meets the requirements (pretty much any single-target direct heal Level 96+ that has a mana cost) will proc the smaller AOE alliance heals, with 120 procs required for the alliance to fulminate.

The change has limited the procs to 1 every 1.5 sec, but since the fastest-casting spell in the game is 0.5 sec, realistically a target with alliance can only expect to get a proc every 2 sec, assuming he is receiving a constant stream of heals. This means a single cleric casting the Merciful Remedy -> Spiritual Remedy -> Graceful Remedy sequence (all of which are 0.5 sec cast spells with only the 1.5 sec global recast between them) can pretty much maintain the maximum AOE healing per sec alliances can now produce. It also means that it will take, at minimum, 4 minutes for the alliance to fulminate because a cleric casting this sequence can only cast 30 heals per minute and needs 4 to cast the 120 heals required. Realistically, however, most clerics aren't casting this sequence for 4 minutes straight so it is more likely than it will take 1-3 clerics to maintain (to cover for the times the other clerics aren't casting their 0.5 sec heals).

Really, though, unless you have priests target different tanks (that may or may not need heals at the time) to get more alliance procs every 2 sec, alliance in its current state is a shell of its former self. The design intent -- which was to allow multiple priests to collaboratively generate AOE healing through non-AOE healing activity -- is completely betrayed by the change because multiple priests casting on the target are now only competing to generate the single heal allowed to trigger it every 1.5 sec.

It honestly isn't realistically possible to maximize alliance healing in its current state because (most) priests are always only going to heal the tanks that need healing and won't heal a different tank if he doesn't need the healing just to get another alliance proc. It's best just to think of the "new" alliance as a sustained HoT (12k proc every 2 sec = 36k per 6 sec "tick" with more possible if multiple priests happen to be targeting different targets with alliance) because that's really what it is now.

Nerf "evens the playing field" between raid forces savvy enough to cooperatively maximize the mechanic by 1) focus healing with 2) the right heals and 3) keeping the buff refreshed and 4) everyone in range, and those that weren't so savvy. I hate that kind of nerf. It's like… shroud raiding.
