Grannus of the Cleaning Steam in Ruins of Lxanvom is broken. We were able to get him to 80% then the damage did not affect him any longer. No adds spawned to heal the mob or to beat on the group or anything else. When we used spell damage when the shields and reflect were supposedly down, the shields went back up pretty well instantly. Either this mission is broken (like so many others in this expansion seem to have been) or it is made exclusively for groups with huge amounts of melee dps and nothing else, as a group with top end group armor and raid gear cannot touch this guy. Fix please.
Its not broken. You are just getting DPS checked and it has nothing to do with melee. 1. DPS Grannus heavy. 2. Have a knight class offtank and grab all adds that spawn while keeping the adds alive. 3. When Grannus is dead. All the adds will despawn. Note: If you kill even one add, Grannus will go into super regen mode and will be unbeatable.
Or take enough DPS to kill him in 30 seconds and the rest of the mechanic become irrelevant. Not that hard to get that much DPS.
Sure, if you have access to the perfect group then pretty much anything is easy. Unfortunately not everyone has that luxury and has to try things with a non perfect group. Tuning task, missions, etc around a full group of the perfect class who are all max raid geared and max AA for the current expansion is not a good idea.
What is your idea of a perfect group? I beat this with a healer, 2 SKs, rogue, zerker, necro (no mercs).
Yeah the amount of DPS needed is not that bad to just win it. It takes more to rush past the healing oozes healing him to get the achievement but still nothing that insane.
