I am messing around on live right now waiting for TLP to open up. I have an enc at 50 and I decided to give my charmed pets some mage weapons and summoned gear. I tried a few different mobs and none of them would take the weapons or gear. I started to think maybe only humanoid models will take it? All the guides I have read for TLP say charmed mobs will take weapons. Thoughts?
I think in classic most mobs will take weapons. Later on expansions some do some don't. I know in GoD most won't but then I was able to give mage pets and armor to a mnt pooka. Sarnaks take weapons also.
I ran into this problem with Imp Protectors specifically in SolB the other day. I haven't been able to go back and test the other mobs so my current theory is that it was a stealth nerf to rogue mobs who could be charmed. I could be wrong but Mage summoned gear might have level recs on them depending on what you got. I'll get back to you once I get into EQ tomorrow night.
