Brushed off an old account, need a mount for a character and looking for advice for the easiest to get one based on a few things. -- Its a FTP char (IE not getting LoN claims), already checked the claims window and I guess he did not qualify for any since whenever I was on him last -- Its a level 50-55 char so cannot go kill Seru etc (I actually never killed Seru still ..ha) -- No interest in spending money to get a marketplace mount for this char. -- Are any holiday mounts coming I can do easy quests for? Not sure if I missed any things, thanks for advice. Edit: Forgot to add: I'm hoping for more than the fast horse/Drog i can purchase.
1. Go get a Gold Ticket from the loyalty vendor in PoK or from a player vendor in the bazaar. 2. Go to King's Court Casino (in Shadow Haven) 3. Turn in ticket to Jacob Thornblade. 4. You can win one of 8 items; the Glowing Black Drum is the one you want. The added bonus to this mount is it is also one of the fastest in the game. You can increase your chances of winning the GBD on the first try, if someone (in your guild or on your server) will lend you the following: 1. Fungus Covered Great Staff 2. Holgresh Elder Beads 3. Rubicite Breastplate 4. Scimitar of the Mistwalker 5. Ton Po's Bo Stick of Understanding 6. Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse If you have all 6 of those items in your bags, then the only 2 items left that you can win are either the aforementioned mount, or Guise of the Deceiver, which is a Dark Elf clicky.
Killing Seru is actually one of the hardest ways to get a mount these days, if only because you have to contend with the mouth breathers that squat at his spawn point for days on end.
What server are you on OP? I have those misc. casino items I can lend you for inventory to turn in a Gold Ticket for the mount on Bristle.
I actually don't have them, I borrowed from someone to get my mount and DE illusion clicky. But that would be a nice thing to have to help peeps with, I may try to get all 6. New goal!!! Something to do with all this copious free time I have not playing in a new campaign. lol.
That EQ Worlds phone app game also has 2 mounts as rewards. Future Echos which is the photo scan quest now has the battle shire horse reward (used to be station cash but they nerfed it), And that Defenders of Norrath, were you kill the gnolls attacking Qeynos has that mini gnome blimp mount (forget the name).
That app is really sub par but I guess if someone really wanted those 2 mounts they could suffer through it.
Silv, thank you so much for the offer, I'm on Fennin (Cazic..yes yes I know.. shhh) though, but the advice was awesome. I'll have to see about getting the rest, and I had plenty of Loyalty when I got the Gold Ticket.
Mayfaire, that was wonderful, I got the Gold Ticket right away. I'll try to see if anyone will let me borrow the stuff tomorrow and see if I get the Drog. The mask would not be bad either, but Loyalty comes slow on FTP.. ha. The mount is what I need atm, so I'm not molasses speed.
Hmm..unsure if I want to install those on my phone, but a horse does seem more appealing than a Drog. Anyone had luck or fun or hate the EQ app? Wonder if I can do it on my kids' tablet so I'm not registering a phone. Thanks for the Info Gnar !!
No problem! One thing I forgot to mention: once you have the 6 items in your bags, Jacob Thornblade might spin the wheel and give you a message that the wheel is not spinning/jammed. That is because it landed on one of the items you already have in your bags, and they are lore. So, if you get that message, just keep handing the Gold Ticket back to him until he actually gives you a prize. If someone does lend you the 6 items, the most tickets you will need is 2 (obviously). So, if you don't have enough loyalty for 2 tickets, a generous guildy may have a lot of unused loyalty sitting around and be willing to sell one for cheap (10-20k). Never hurts to ask. Also - just an FYI, since the GBD is one of the fastest mounts, if you win it you'll want to make it the "Stat mount" in your mount tab (in inventory). Then every other mount you get will be as fast as the GBD*. Good luck! *Not sure though if the mount tab is available for FTP?
You can get the app on your tablet, and the 2 quest i mentioned are not the ones that ask you to use facebook or twitter. The scan one all you do is google it and find the wiki with the photos to scan, real easy. The kill gnolls one is actually easier to do on a tablet. all you do on that one is kill waves of gnolls before they reach Qeynos, it may take you a few tries till get a win though, i know i had to do a couple times. When you complete these quest they give you a code, you enter the code in EQ and the mount will be in your claims. The mounts are heirloom.
My experience is that a character cannot win a 2nd mask. I have turned in several thousand ckets for several drums, and never have more than one mask per character.
It's not lore, but for whatever reason it never gives you two (maybe just checks if it's on you / your bank / etc)
