Returning player here, been a long time. I had some cash on my Ranger from back in the day, and decided to transfer it to a new Wizard and twink him out a bit. I waltzed into the bazaar, opened up the menu, and searched for some appropriate gear, something with mana regen or just flat mana. Pretty near everything worthwhile now has a Req level to use. So what happened? Does twinking no longer happen, particularly for casters? Is it defiant/consigned gear all the way up to like, 80/85? Or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Here is about as much HP/Mana as you can get at Level 60 with a Wizard (yes, I realize that's a Necro, gear options are largely the same) even on FV with pretty much unlimited plat and some slots Defiant is still the best option. http://eq.magelo.com/profile/1857887 A Wizard in all Defiant (jewelry slots sold in PoK on a vendor) would have about half the hp/mana and could pretty much kill the same things as a Wizard with that gear. Also keep in mind that a J1 Warrior merc is a unstoppable killing machine up to Level 60 and at Level 61 if you go AFK in he Guild Lobby in Defiant gear you will come back to 20k+ HP and buffs that will make it literally impossible for you to run out of mana for hours if you play on a standard server. Other than click or proc items on FV you pretty much can't meaningfully twink a Wizard.
I'm on Cazic Thule, so buying the items off the bazaar wouldn't really work I suppose. I appreciate the information, though, was very helpful. I suppose if I really wanted to pursue it, I could advertise that i was paying for the loot rights on one of these, though getting there sub level 10 would be an issue lol.
By the time you can find someone to sell you the loot rights, go to the zone, get it etc... you could be level 50. Just doing the tutorial nets you a full suit of visible gear better than most old school twink stuff.
