Does disarm affect a mob's dps in today's mechanics?

I have my disarm skill maxed for my level and do disarm mobs from time to time. My question is whether it actually does anything to their dps or if this skill is just a relic from another time?

If you disarm their offhand, though not many mobs in EQ that might spawn with 2 weapons will have weapons that are disarmable.

Rogue type mobs seem to be able to backstab you from the front if they are wielding a weapon. Maybe disarm would work to prevent that? Never actually tried it

I would like to know this too

So far it's only use was to get a few extra FS weapons ;p
