While the quest Deafening Quietus is active, Sofia the Quiet the named Banshee will drop the appropriate essence for the quest, however when looted they do not provide quest credit. The drop should either be removed from her loot table or credit should be enabled.
She updates the part of the quest for killing banshees, just looting her essence doesn't update the quest.
