Just haven't seen the same problems. Got 7 last year and 2 this year so far and never spent more than 4 hours at the camp in one setting. I checked it early and often and pushed for pick's whenever the static or current pick zone was close population wise.
What server are you on? I am having horrible luck at this camp. Been living there since this HH thing started. First it seems like a forever wait to get the camp(unless a pick opens); second the mob is just rare. Then when I have seen him pop it's been the mnk/bst weapon. Gotten 2 so far since the start. averaging 6-12 hours a day killing his ph(and the rest of the crypt) after I get the camp. I will say thou that the popper seems even more rare than the box.
