Maybe its a coincidence, but ive noticed that one of my mini PCs I use for boxing has been blaring its fan nonstop while eq is on the screen, even in guildhall with nobody around. the memory and CPU usage seems the same, but the GPU usage is at 60% which I don't think is how it used to be... all drivers are up to date, I've done virus scans and sifted through task manager to stop all other processes that might be using resources with no luck.
Yes, and the patch behaves like a memory leakage.. (It uses more power than it really needs) bad coding.
Across 3 PCs with different classes of video card, the character select screen always makes mine run hot. It has for years. Similar to being in the middle of whatever lag pile your server has.
