I'm not new to EQ fairly new to the Paladin. I find the buffs confusing as hell, everything seems to be overwritten by something else. Some people like Brells it seems but again that is overwritten often. Just wondered if anyone can give me tips on pally buffing, what's useful and what isn't when grouping and raiding. I'm 65 and started raiding on Phinny
Brell's is a hit point buff on slot 4. This slot is shared with beastlord's Spiritual Brawn/Strength/Vigor/Vitality and ranger's Strength of Nature/Tunare/the Hunter. Brell's has the greatest number of hit points at a comparable level, but Spiritual Vigor and Strenth of Tunare have attack on them, with ranger buffs having higher attack than beastlord. Tanks, casters and priests will prefer Brell's as a result, but melee DPS classes will as a rule prefer ranger Strength, then beastlord Spiritual, and if neither are available, Brell's.
