Cannot Reproduce Bristlebane Day: The Gift of Laughter didn't give "The Lunatic" title

Bristlebane Day: The Gift of Laughter didn't give "The Lunatic" title, even though the achievement and quest reward said it would.

Clicked someone's bristlebane painting on characters that I hadn't done the quest on prior (purposefully waited until April 1) and was ported to Shard's Landing, got the achievement and the painting, but the suffix/title "The Lunatic" isn't available to the characters I did this on yesterday.

I zoned a few times afterward, even logged off & back on, and still no suffix "The Lunatic" available on those characters.

I petitioned, was told it was a bug, and to report it here since they couldn't do anything via customer support to resolve it.

Just hoping to be able to use that title on my characters that have the achievement.

The title is only given on April 1st and requires zoning as many times as it takes to get the special buff. Once you get the buff zone once more and you'll have the title. So you'll have to wait now until next year.

OP is correct. I had this happen about 4 years ago, one character who did the quest thru the painting to get the update never got the suffix. Although he did get the painting for himself and the /ach but no title.

I petitioned and was told they could not assign the suffix even though it showed I completed it.

Then some one said a dev assured us if you just keep zoneing over and over on April 1 that you will get the suffix.

Well, I have tried over the past 4 years zoning and zoning on April 1 on that character and have never received the suffix. It would be impossible since we already were awarded the rest of the /ach

So give up on it now and don't look back

And for anyone else who is looking at doing this next year, make sure you do NOT take the painting short cut. Just do it the old fashioned way.

It's not impossible to get after you get tge achieve. I got it on several characters this year. Some of them got it in a few zones. Others took hours.

Glad you got your suffix but its still a bug as they can see that I and the OP do not have the suffix but do have the ach and painting.

When you get the reward/achievement, it states "Title: The Lunatic" as one of the parts of the reward. So either the achievement should be changed to reflect that the title is not given, or the title should be given with the achievement like it states it will. That, to me (and to the GM who handled my ticket) seems like a bug.

Yeah, they either need to change it to take the title off the reward or just make it so the achievement only rewards when you do the quest the intended way on April first. Otherwise they are just confusing people.

I got it on Agnarr, but one time there was a delay of a minute or several between when I got the nimbus, and got the title.

Confirming no Suffix given. Zoned a few times, still nothing. Just the painting as a reward.

Bump for visibility (PLEASE upvote if you haven't!) since we're getting closer to April 1st.

ALSO - can anyone (especially devs or admins) confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that once you've already completed the QUEST, you can still GO BACK the next April 1st and zone a ton and STILL GET the title? I don't want to run around zoning all day just to not get the title on characters I've already done the quest on. But I really really want the title. =/

I'm not important but I do know that you can go back on April 1st and zone until you get the title. I have this title on almost all of my characters now. Many of them had the painting already from clicking the one in my guild hall. This isn't broken. You only get the title on April 1st.

I'm not truly doubting you, and I do appreciate your input. It would just be nice to have confirmation from someone familiar with the code before I sink the time into it, is all I'm saying. I will be super happy if I can indeed still get the suffix by zoning the bugged toon.

But the quest, as it's written in the game, is definitely, actually, still, bugged/broken. I'm hoping to (in addition to myself getting the title/suffix) eliminate frustration for others by getting the bug fixed.

Well here are two of us that DID NOT get the suffix after using the painting as the main way of the quest. It is listed as a viable alternate and yes we get the completion for the quest - we just don't get the suffix.

All my other characters that I have done this on without using the picture for the zoning requirement get the suffix fine.Yep, a lot of zoning but that is part of it.

So here it is, 5 years later, 5 years of zoning over and over on April 1 all throughout the day with no suffix awarded. My ach shows completed on April 1, 2018. And nothing listed under suffixes for Lunatic.

I doubt I will bother this year. Think I will just quit playing that character.

Yep going on 6 years of zoning each April 1 with NO SUFFIX.

HEY GUYS!!! It can be done, confirmed! The toon that was bugged last year has the suffix this year!


I made a hotkey to bounce between wayfarer locations, and just clicked it to keep zoning until I got the suffix.

/pause 5, /tar magus
/say butcherblock everfrost

... and click click click ad nauseum until you can't click any more. My bugged toon got her suffix today.
