On Agnarr we're PoP locked at 65. So which pet should I probably be using at 65? - lvl 65 pet, Rathe's Son - lvl 63 pet, Child of Ro - lvl 62 pet, Servant of Marr - lvl 61 pet, Ward of Xegony Also, am I correct to assume that these should all be equipped with Blade of the Kedge x 2, Belt of Magi'kit, Muzzle of Mardu, and phantom plate? I am going to say it depends on what your fighting. grouped for most dps servent of marr. grouped fighting casters ward of xegony grouped with out a tank Rathes son Solo farming trash servent of marr solo for exp rathes son Hopefully somewhere along the line you got a pet focus. If you did your pet should have armor already when summoned you can give it jewelry Kedge is good enough weapon. you don't have any good +backstab weapons you can summon. You could farm a nice backstab weapon and give to pet though.
I only did the 4 Sol Ro focus quests, I'll have to look at Zam to see if I can ID any others, as they don't go beyond about lvl 49. Thanks for that detailed response!
Isn't the epic 1.0 pet still viable at 65? It has been many many years since I was 65 so I forget....
There are a lot of pet focus you can get on your server. Epic pet is an option but I think if you can get the best focus the normal pets would be better. You can do ldon missions and get the lowest level Summoners boon To the highest level Ritual summoning From Ldon raid Child of air unfocused is around 5600hps Lvl 65 pet Summoners boon is around 5800 Lvl 65 pet Ritual summoning 6400hps Lvl 67 pet There is also one from Time in PoP and one from Vex thall. Not sure how much your pop locked server raids. Maybe be stuck just getting summoners boon
I've been told that the epic pet isn't really the one of choice once you get 60's pets. That and of course it requires a drop from Plane of Air Island 7 or some such. But mainly, it supposedly not that great at at 62+.
Definitely not :-( The level difference makes it all, epic pet is level 49 unfocused, level 50 focused. The unfocused PoP pets are level 60. Epic will be used only for farming trash due to its high dps output.
From lvl 1 to about 85 I used the air pet. Sometimes earth dependent on if I knew the area I was killing in or if a named mob packed a wallop. The epic pet is good until 60, if that. I hope this helps.
