Is there a way to auto-bash with my cleric when I'm doing melee or do I still have to go through the arduous task of pushing that button?

May i ask why you'd want to auto bash? I find it best to save bash for when the mob starts casting, especially if you see a heal or gate being cast.
I don't remember the last time a mob gated. Do they still have gating mobs in TBL? Its few and far between that I can time bashing with a mob casting while keeping an eye on the the other five group members life. Healing is first concern of course. And from there if I can add a small amount of DPS its a plus. Takes a mid range tank for me to melee at all, as I'm generally the only healer in the group.
