Am I wrong? (Selo's with FV loot)

If it's an ultra casual server.. and we've seen in the forums that there are people who don't like, want or have any interest in raiding. Then wouldn't it be nice if they could still buy the raid gear off of the raid guilds to enjoy it?

Selos in current former is ultra hardcore server. Whether FV loot or not, if you can't sink 20+ hours a week into that server, you will eventually fall behind. Far be it from those who play less than 12 hours a week. How this idea was ever for casuals is beyond me.

Depends on what you are planning on doing, I'm not interested in raiding only grouping for 6 - 8 hours a week, I don't think I will fall behind and I'm also not interested in FV loot rules.

100x this. Though i plan on getting my PoP keys if possible.

If group content is correctly tuned it shouldn’t matter. Heirloom items that you could pass around to alts would be cool, but I don’t think EQ has ever done something like that.

What is the argument against FV loot rules for those against it? I'm genuinely curious, what is negatively impacting you by having this feature??

Someone will come and say it that it causes guilds to lockdown all content to create a RMT paradise so they can buy new Ferrari’s and penthouses. Another person will say it diminishes their accomplishments because others just buy their way to the top.

I think that’s the main arguements I’ve seen repeated.

It’s pretty simple. I want a guise of the deceiver. Normally, I could find an open camp, but since everything is tradable, all pickzones of asss/sup are permanently locked down by farmers that just want to sell it. Now, I have to camp a less desirable item (potentially multiple times) and sell it to buy my guise. Not only is this annoying, but it is also much less enjoyable for someone who enjoys looting their gear off of mobs they kill. For this reason, I am adamantly against the FV ruleset, as to me it even further caters to those with infinite time to spend online.

That doesn't apply to aoc content obviously and it might apply to group content but significant group content isn't no drop

I think FV rules with AoCs would alleviate any of those issues.

guise of the deceiver is perma camped for loot rights either way in classic. With fv rules there are more things worth camping, and therefore more ways to buy the item you desire.

Not many people want a guise after it's nerfed so I think you would be fine?

If you want it pre-nerf then nothing you said is any different than every other TLP. It's permanently locked down until the nerf with people selling loot rights if a group isn't there because everyone wants one for all their toons.

This is just completely false. I have been able to find an open guise camp for my monk on all 3 TLP’s I have played on. But either way, the exact item wasn’t really the point, it was merely an example that I pulled out of the air. Could use it for epic quest drops too. For a lot of players, camping items themselves is hugely rewarding. And don’t compare selling the items to selling loot rights, the logistics are not the same.

We have never had a TLP server with tradeable loot. Since they are coming out with two servers they should finally have one of them be FV style. Devs, you would then see just how popular it would be, and even have to open a second server to hold the population. (Maybe they don't want that extra work?)

Well said. I played on FV when it first launched and it was amazing. But that was before gold farmers, Kronos and multi boxers were a thing. I don't think it would work in this day and age. I'd be happy if the casual server kept the normal loot rules. Could care less what they give the hardcore player server

Idk, so far I'm not seeing a very good argument against it. As I see it, look at the population of FV and tell me again it's not what the majority of people want.
