I just read Djarn's post again and realized that there is an absolute AC hard cap up till level 50 of 25+6*level for AC gained through equipment.
No, it's a bit different. That just caps from gear, you still gain AC class/race bonus and, skill, and AGI. Note in classic there was actually a hardcap of 350 for all classes It just means raw AC from gear stops being effective. I'm not sure if live still has an actual hardcap here for sub 50 or not since the post doesn't go into details of the caps and returns at every level

If the value of the equipment AC > this number, discard the higher value. My case: 25+6*25 = 175 AC EQ discards 20AC I did not know that the hard cap existed until I read the formula a second time, I thought it was amusing so I posted it here, I wouldn't have gone to the expense I did for some of this AC only gear if I had known I wouldn't be able to take advantage whatsoever until a higher level. I also see players every week buying full sets of class armor for the same reason, I assume they also do not realize it won't help till level 30+. The AC hard caps above are very easy to hit for even a mild twink.
