    Cool deal.

And it's exactly what I said the people actively trying to disrupt both were going to end up causing. RMTers likely just shot themselves in the foot.
  5. Tamier Augur

Sorry to say, it's highly unlikely, because then the 3rd party 6 man boxers wouldn't be able to hoard the camps all to themselves, and that is who Sony and now DBG caters to.

    still here huh
  7. sihpa Augur

Nah they tweeted they're monitoring things. They'll instance raids in some form or another.
    Vaclav and Tamier like this.

Well, instancing is the most logical conclusion to take - but technically it's just IMPLIED by being the most sensible solution we know is currently possible.

But clearly SOMETHING will be done in the "non-immediate" future from her statement. (Unless things change drastically soon that can remove the need to bother)

So hint, hint - if you don't want to risk stuff getting instancing because you're an instancephobe - time to get everyone acting as nice as you can to kill the need. (But we all know that ain't gonna happen)

One other sensible solution is to do nothing and continue to rake in money like last time.
  10. Ceffener Augur

I understand you don't want instances. I don't understand the assumption that instancing will cause less money. It's possible but unlikely.

I'd love to know more about the running theories of why Fippy's population was highest during non-instanced expansions.
  13. SqueeshSqueesh Augur

    Here is a theory,

Casual Guy01 subs to the game wanting to relive the glories of old. He's thrilled about slaying named in the pre-pop dungeons. He takes his time levelling because he wants to enjoy the ride as much as possible. Eventually he hits max level and remembers his old raiding days, he wants to relive them as well. He can't tho because if he wants to have a shot at killing classic dragons or trying to complete his epic, he has to join <Poopsockers> or <No Laifers>. He unsubs and moves on to some other game.

Maybe that took him about 6 months to a year, wich would equate the "Non-instanced" period of Fippy.

Server population is going to decline naturally over time.

The most sensible solution, by several orders of magnitude, is to remove anyone who griefs these things.

These are not players who are contributing to the success of the game, they are actively hurting it. Do NOT reward them, for heaven's sake.

Take them out of the game.

    Everyone else wins.
  16. Ceffener Augur

Given you have no chart to back up you claim anyway. Population most likely peaked the first month then declined since then.

By your logic the server should be locked on classic for 30 days then reset.
  17. ngs1 Augur

Except non-instanced Fippy lasted 5 expansions and 1.5 years. Next theory please.
  18. ngs1 Augur

Assuming that is the case, why the precipitous between PoP and GoD?
  19. Ceffener Augur

Why did population drop after PoP on live (hint nothing to do with instances).

So every game server ever has perpetually declined toward zero? Man, what are we all playing now...
