Thinking of things that already exist that they can "flick a switch" on (in theory): Fast XP = either. Really, really fast XP = either... Quest XP boosted back = benefits both if the handful of abused quests are dealt with first... 51/50 start = makes sense on event servers maybe, until other templates exist doesn't have a place until progression (unless they make them naked and allow them in PoP era or such as a character creation option) Slow XP = unnecessary to all but the most sadistic hardcore rulesets Other events like faction/rare spawns/etc. = can make the case for either, for hardcore it depends on the nature of competition if some things should be easier targets beaten to unlock next expac = hardcore if at all. MotM and similar = hardcore. True casual are moving so slow it isn't about endgame content being a challenging kill in era at all. era-gating of pet strength and such = both need it otherwise magequest ftw AoC = casual, could work on hardcore or could undermine competition (depends on other variables. pickzone = casual, hardcore as per AoC note above Truebox =casual, hardcore I've heard argued both ways and not sure... single character per account = hardcore and even then really depends if it benefits the competition and/or overall ruleset. Note: enabling this as the first 3 day rule on any new server is probably a good idea... would stop a lot of the hassle over names. other RP server toggles like languages/channels = nobody benefits from that fast unlocks (shorter than 3 month) = hardcore (real casuals quit when it moves too fast) voting = nobody wants voting (even if the say they do). Auto unlocks on a schedule is much, much nicer. long unlock 6 month or greater = casual, hardcore gets most content done well within 3 month unlocks until much later eras it gets debatable to maybe need 4 LDoN launched with PoP = better for everyone unless micro defining a racing unlock schedule [argument to move LoY and LDoN and few weeks before PoP has some merit, though it won't happen]. Other all mission expacs bundled with another as well... free trade loot = casual benefits for sure, but not sure it is a need. Could be fine on hardcore, but can't trivialize the race if competition is part of the hardcoreness. PVP = not casual ever, and extremely limits the appeal to hardcore imo permadeath = not even the most hardcore will likely see this flicked on again corpseruns = waste of casual's limited time, don't see the appeal but if hardcore really want it... project M = not sure we'd even get this again a Quarm event Sullon(?) Zek odd deity/class combos (Vah Shir Druid, etc.) = do they even remember they have this code? Server launches on a different day than the other one... hardcore going first by a day or two makes sense. Not really a toggle... but would save some hassle I think. Other existing "toggles" I missed?
