I just purchased rank 2 of bloodthirsty blade and saw no increase in damage going from rank 1 to rank 2. I was using Reticent Gar as my weapon. Tested with a second sk who has 3 ranks. Using a 197damage 2HS max hit was 2294 Using a 199damage 2HP max hit was 1808 Tested in the guild hall on a dummy. No change in buffs. Am I missing something or is Bloodthirsty Blade bugged? Anyone else able to check it out and see what kind of numbers they get?
It doesn't work on piercing since the code apparently doesn't differentiate between 2 hand and 1 hand piercing. So you'd end up with it stacking with shield specialist on 1 hand piercers.
It not affecting piercing is a problem if that is the case. They are often shoving piercing weapons down our throats (I hate piercing weapons in general for tanks) so they need to find a way to fix it.
So I jumped over to the test server to reset aa and check to be sure and here's what I got. I tried two different 2H Pierce weapons at each of the first 3 ranks of Bloodthirsty Blade and checked the max hit for each. I also checked a 2H Slash and a 2H Blunt at each rank. Buying rank 1 increased the max hit for 2HS and 2HB by 150. 2H Pierce did not increase. For rank 2, 2HS and 2HB went up by another 225 and 2H Pierce did not increase. For rank 3, 2HS and 2HB went up by another 125 and 2H Pierce did not increase. I see alot of sk's running around with Reticent Gar's so hopefully this will help get the word out that Bloodthirsty Blade is not working with 2H Pierce weapons. Anyone up for checking if our other aa's that focus on 2h weapons are also left out with piercers?
100% not working with 2hp, ive noticed i do way more dps with my glorious 2 hander which is 8 dmg less than my reticent gar..... maybe we should post this message to one of the main boards for a dev to see?
No that is the problem they need to fix. They all too often push 2H piercing weapons on SKs in the group game and if they aren't going to allow them to work with our AAs, they need to just discontinue using that type of weapon from now on and giving us something equal to replace it now.
What I predict will happen here is not so much a fix, as a workaround. Allow shield specialist AND bloodthirsty blade to work, but nerf piercing damage to compensate. I really hope they just fix this instead, but this wouldn't surprise me.
Reviving this thread as I haven't seen any dev response or anything here. I can verify that as of 01/28/2013 2hp is still bugged, at least for the bloodthirsty blade aspect of it. It may very well be bugged for our other 2her AA, Speed of the Knight as well. Did a test w/ another SK in the guild who has GreatSpear of the Dawn, 335/37, augged w/ 16 was more like 351/37, while I used my Greatstaff of the Domain, 299/36, augged becoming 315/36. He did roughly 3540ish max damage non crit, while I was hitting about 3700 max damage non crit. 351 does 3540, yet 315 does 3700? I am really glad he won it before me, no way on earth I'm getting that now. I'll wait until I can see the 2hs from T1 or T2 if 2hp isn't even an increase. I guess one other way to go on fixing this issue would be to make the 2hp do even more damage, this wouldn't solve the Speed of the Knight problem though. Devs, please look at this!
Parsed last night after getting my new GSoD. Short answer is, my t2 group Jom'Agurd is doing 7.1% more white dps then this due to whatever the issue is ( BB as speculated or some other problem ) Min hit for the spear was 804, for the staff 1450. Ive sent in a petition, ive bug reported it, and i put up a post along with the log file i parsed ( 40m capture per weapon ) here : http://www.evilgamer.net/forums/showthread.php?p=212359&posted=1#post212359 If the numbers that Gorgon derived are hard coded ( as opposed to results from a % coding calc ), then the issue is more then just Bloodthirsty Blade ... adding that additional 500 min hit dmg still leaves the GSOD 146 dmg short of the min dmg of the Jom. And since the spear has a base dmg that is 29.8% higher, in reality it should have a min hit of ~ 1882 all things being equal. Which means, at present, it is min hitting for < 50% of what it should.
This is an unexpected find. As other have stated, I suspect this is because there is no differentiation in code between piercing and 2h piercing. The best solution I can see would be to make those piercing weapons use the slashing skill so the AA's will work on them. I'll look into this further.
somewhere between 'never' and 'not for a long while'. there is no easy fix for this, and the only alternatives are fraught with other complications and problems. this is a coding roadblock, do not expect to see anything come of this any time soon.
Ok i can accept the fact that it is in the code and will take alot of work to fix. Maybe make some of the knight only 2HP weapons blunt or slashing then.
