I think they should do a mix of sod and hot. Make parallel zones for the old starting cities as the endgame group/raid zones, and their respective newbie zones being the tier(s) leading up to them
Just let us kill Friona Vie, getting sick of saving her butt in Arx Mentis, when she jumps on mobs she should know better to take on! She needs to learn to raid, Raidleader calls DPS off, she needs to stop too! WTB commands for FV!
That's more an issue of players (mistakenly) valuing levels over AA's. Had a similar thing in a group in Sunderock, where my chanter ended up tanking (actual tanking, not rune-tanking), since she was better at it than the tank we picked up, due to a combination of a massive AA count difference and the tank being undergeared =/
It doesn't matter what the players want. Last year Smedley himself said: And we got TDS. This year, they cut the dev team in half, and players keep hoping for something more? Dream on.
Personally, I would pay good money to be able to player-kill her without borking the raid. She is more aggravating than any two boss mobs I can name, including Lanys.
Feel a bit fanboyish to say, but I don't completely hate TDS. I definitely liked cotf more, but water sucks and the undead are awesome so it was doomed from the start. I don't hate the multi-hail mechanics just like I don't hate this game's old graphics, because I know the hails are required to dump large amounts of lore into text. The T1-T2 zones were ugh, but I like degmar thus far, the layout, stealthing by the live mobs at risk of being aggro'd by UD is fun little stealth aspect of the game, can almost pretend I'm solid snake. Haven't even seen thulisar yet but I hear it's pretty. Obviously older expacs were better. But the casual perspective on TDS is that I certainly ain't blowing through it in a day, and t2 and t3 thus far has been fairly challenging for a 2box group...
The secret of next expansion is already out, most everyone hates Halflings, especially Mayor Gubbin. After many years of experiments in his laboratory he is prepared to take over all of Norrath- eat foot hair you jealous baldies.
Well, as Guild Jester I have responsibilities to try and lighten the mood, on the other hand maybe in another 15 years of predicting a Halfling effort at domination, I will be right. Of course, in some matters I do try to provide good advice.
I have, but not recently, I don't have an open slot to make a level 1, and it is easy to miss events.
I would like to see the halflings take kithicor forest back from the undead. If they can swing that then the rest of norrath can start to worry.
Drinal and TypoMarr had them this past weekend, and many innocent halflings were killed. It was glorious
to the OP of this, i suggest you read an article posted by Thott a long, long time ago titled "the kunark problem." http://www.afterlifeguild.org/Thott/kunark.php
"It will be another generation before levels are seen as useful again. At that time, I hope this paper is useful." -Thott Great article. Wonder what Thott is playing now? If anything.
Traditionnally we had 1 expansion with level raise and next 1 without level raise. With people racing to max level anyway whats the point.Even with nerf always somebody finding a way to get to max level. I would like for next 1 no level raise but mobs with more hp and that hit harder would give us a challenge.I'm tired of mmo that try to follow wow with trivial encounter. Let's go back to the good old days of eq with hard to kill mobs.
