Why aren't the new aura boxes in the marketplace?

I was recently watching a video from Vagrant, and he made a few points that I agree with.

    1. Majority of the people that bought the Booster Bundle box really had no interest in the contents within the bundle except for the aura box

    2. Spending $20 for a 3/10 chance of getting a new aura is sort of rediculous. If I'm paying 20 dollars, I want to get what I paid for.

    3. Putting these 3 new auras on the marketplace for 500SC-1000SC. So that players wouldn't have to run the risk of paying $20 and getting an aura that is a common drop in lockboxes

What are your thoughts? How do you feel about what he said? Do you think it would be better to put the aura boxes in the marketplace an give the person a 1 in 3 chance of getting the 3 new auras?

They can't now, because so many people have already bought them.

    I agree with everything there.

And for those that might say "Well they are exclusive for a reason!", there are ways they can sell aura boxes on their own (and probably for cheaper) or just the auras on their own within the same limited amount of time they are selling this bundle in.

This has been said over and over again.
    They can change it.
    But they won't.
They don't care about what we all want.
    They want money.
It is as simple as that.

In order to survive, this game needs some really good cash flow spikes every now and then. I can't imagine how much money was put into the game today. I'm quite okay with it.

There are plenty on the broker for players who don't want to "gamble", so there are alternative options. I think it's very cool that they are able to be traded.

Hahaha to the people who say "they are meant to be exclusive" I say "wrong".
SOE "want" them to be exclsive.
The Auras are code that becomes a cosmetic part of the game.
They have no bearing on the outcome of anything that occurs during the game.
They can literally make as many of these as they want.
They aren't rare, they are obtained by a low chance in a lottery.

Lol difference is, here you're in a lottery where you put in the same currency as you get out (if you win)

SOE's lottery is "put in money, get out **** all unless we feel like it"

not really but at least there aren't any more ninja looting threads.

thank god i dont want one of the new auras.

its going to be a sad day for my bank account if they ever incorporate a cosmic aura tho.

They did it this way because they know some people will spend excessive amounts of money for an aura. Putting them in the marketplace would have been profitable, but not as profitable as how they're doing it. I think James is in charge of things like this. You know James, Trigon's Son of Greed.

I think the Booster Gold Bundles are a joke of a product and refuse to purchase them.

That said, I would LUV to know if the DCUO powers-that-be realize that they’d probably make more money from selling the auras straight out in the MP than these ridiculous BGBs.

Of course the same thing could be said for why they would do anything less than a 50% sale.

In the end, sure you’ll still get people who buy into the subpar product releases but you’re alienating many more with them.

As it stands now, I and many others will spend ZERO on these auras when we would’ve purchased them as individual products from the MP.

Same thing applies when one sale is 25% and another is 50%, I’d have participating in 2-50% sales vs. now only participating in one and in a tempered manner.

The bottom line is that they are making tons of cash because many people are buying these bundles.
They aren't stupid, if these Booster Bundles weren't generating a healthy profit they wouldn't keep bringing them back.

I like new box dont matter chance 3/10 is ok to me, Devs are tryin make loot more easily to get, thats nice to me, means that the Devs are listing us in forum, they want helps us take feats styles and aura but dont want to do it on easy mode buy and done, cuz it inst fair with players that got auras and styles by hard way drop change, so if devs make it easy alot old school player ll complain about, thinks about it

People are nuts if they think they would make more money selling them individually in the marketplace. There were PAGES upon pages of these auras on the broker last night already (wait till the weekend, it should be even worse), and you know it's highly unlikely that they got them in the first boxes and put them on the auction house....

They're making a killing on them because people buy the bundle for $20 trying to get auras to sell in the auction house. If they just sold them for $5 each you would need four people to buy the aura to make it even, and then people would just buy the one they want instead of taking multiple shots at the booster bundles...

The bottom line IMO is they would likely sell more auras individually, but make much less money.

Get ready, cause about this time next year we're going to be seeing more color variants and another new rare aura in a new booster bundle. It sells WAY too well to not keep doing it.

Don't know what so special about these auras in the first place? Not even sure why they are appealing, honestly they look horrible even for $20. The new Nimbus looks the best of the three even then I wouldn't spend $20. for a chance to get one or $30 mill in game for one. The repair bots and scanners are probably the most appealing to the Booster Gold pack. I do agree, it shouldn't be random, it should be a guarantee, you get a new aura if you do buy a booster gold pack. It's a limited time deal and it shouldn't be get a chance for a new aura. The purpose of limited time, meaning won't be around all year. So it should be buy a Booster Gold pack and get a limited time aura.

I'm starting to wonder why I sub up. or Why I've been subbing for so long, with my wife & I we spend about 300$ a year on this . . . I'm not feeling that much love, & I'm NOT going into my wallet for anything DCUO beyond my sub. It's getting crazy I know the game needs cash, make MORE incentives to sub.

The answer is simple. They would sell less of them if people got the limited aura first chance.

You got exactly what you paid for. You got a "chance" at an aura. Just like going to a casino. You gambled.
