Now you all can know why BRs players are they way they are:

    PS4 will cost U$ 1845,40 here.

It is not a joke, it´s official from Sony :)

So it is understandable why we are brats, we are aura beggars, we are ninja looters !!!

    :)

p.s.: still love the country and the people here :)

most it should be is 861 (BRL)

conversion rates are 1 USD = 2.15 BRL

Even if you put 72% of taxes (standard in Brazil for videogames), you should have, at best, U$583,80.

So, who is gaining U$1300 in a PS4 buy?

That´s why Brazilian´s piracy is rampant... nobody should pay so much money for a videogame :/

Yeah I saw this and I felt so angry at that. I believe it's mostly Brazil's Government, but I'm not sure.

Buy it from a different country and have it shipped

With U$1850, I can travel Rio de Janeiro-Miami and back, buy a PS4 and have some fun :)

The taxes are not the explanation, they cannot even reach 100%... more than 400% is a rip-off.

Well, maybe SONY can explain :) Dunno how...

shipping from US to brazil is about $3000
    air mail goes from $900 - $1200

thats not including weight of the product or the fact that its delicate

Where do you got these numbers? :)

You could do what most sane people do and wait until the rush is over. You don't need it straight away.

Not to mention if you have that kind of cash for it day1 then you shouldn't be begging at all and be a subber etc. Unreal engine is so old these days .

    Rio-Miami and back: U$760.

    PS4: U$ 399,00

    Taxes 72%: U$399 * 0,72 = U$288.

    Total = U$1447!

    U$ 1850 - 1447 = U$ 403 TO PARRRRTTTTTYYYYYY IN MIAMI!

    Just an insane world.

I would NEVER buy a PS4 in this world :) After the rush or not...

My money is hard to get!

    A little update.

In Brazilian Custom, you only have to pay 72% taxes if the product cost more than U$500,00.

    SO, cost update:

    Rio-Miami and back: U$760.

    PS4: U$ 399,00

    Taxes 72%: U$399 * 0,72 = U$288.

    Total = U$1447! U$ 1159,00

    U$ 1850 - 1159 = U$ 691 TO PARRRRTTTTTYYYYYY IN MIAMI!

What does this have to do with actual money if I may ask?

    You said it.
  13. Starbrand Dedicated Player

We, as people, are always short on money...

In our cultural consciuous, other countries have means we dont have :)

p.s.: I cant complain too much about money but...

    All countries have their quirks

Somehow our subs in Australia were a few dollars more. Even my lifetime sub was an extra 20-30 dollars more. This was when our dollar was better than the us dollar for a while.

Everyone sum is different from everyone else's. The amount of money you have shouldn't determine if you ninja loot or beg. What you said was very stereotypical towards Brazilians. Not all of them ninja loot or beg for things. Some Americans ninja loot and beg.

Stereothypes are born out of facts and may be or not simple prejudice.

Not every brazilian acts the same way, but some majority.

I am brazilian and I play videogames for 33 years now.

We are infamous over the internet, even our own newspapers publish about it !

But we can laugh about it too :)

That sucks about the cost...it seems like that has to be a Gov thing.

Also worried about the World Cup, seems many of you that live there don't want it. Would hate to see it marred by bad things.

Nothing can be an excuse for ninja looting.

    I'm Brazilian and I don't support this.

Exactly. My friend was unhappy in your comment. It is true that my country (Brazil) has one of the highest tax rates in the world! While it has one of the worst distribution of income as well. It is true that everything is more expensive here than anywhere. But this does not justify in no time the person being rude on the net, mistreating his neighbor, or even invest only in piracy. Is this kind of thinking that makes us look bad Brazilians we stay in the world. The worst thing is not the majority that thinks so.:(
