Please Add the Vault's Iconic Clothing to the Marketplace

With the addition of Auras being added to the in-game Marketplace that originally only dropped from Promethium Lockboxes, I think it would be nice if the iconic styles that currently only drop in the Vault were added to the Marketplace as well.

These iconic styles already exist in-game, are purely cosmetic, and do not count towards any Feats or other form of progression, so I don't see why there would be too much of an issue with this. This would allow players the option of being able to directly purchase iconic style versions of hats, hoodies, t-shirts, or even boxer shorts that are already available without having to rely on pure luck from the Vault. This would also add some much needed extra items for sale in the Marketplace as well (since the only ones available for purchase right now are a Superman hoodie, Wonder Woman baseball cap, and Black Adam t-shirt).

It never hurts to have more options. Especially if we have the option to pay directly for what some of us may want as opposed to waiting for something that may never drop due to that wonderful thing called RNG.

    Thoughts?

I'd love to see new styles in the marketplace .

I've never seen an MMO with a more worthless Marketplace. I just don't get it.

It's even worse when you think that the game's model aims at striving from micro transactions. I guess replay badges and respec tokens aren't just an option, they ARE the Marketplace. So much could be added that players wouldn't give a second thought on buying...

    It doesn't add up.

I understand they have a smaller Dev team than other games (an assumption based on forum conversations). But, I have to belive that adding even just one full outfit a month, or two, would cover the salary of a freelance college kid studying computer graphics.

In a game that has the level of personal customisation like this, style items in the marketplace "should" far outsell replay badges by an enormous amount.

So the question is why. Why has there been virtually NO style additions to the market in over 3 years? I'd be interested to know.

Personally, I'd rather them keep it as it is. I like that some items I have are really rare, in fact, I have all of the in-game hoodies on my main except the Hack Attack Hoodie, and I've only ran into 3 or 4 others that have all of them as well. I kind of like having someone see a style piece I have and ask me what it is and where to get it. I run the Vault from time to time just to get the Iconic Styles, since that is all that I have left to get from there after playing for over 3 years.

Oh I definitely understand about rarity, but I kind of disagree with you about rarity when it comes to the Vault of all places, especially when the Vault is by its very nature supposed to be a place of player rewards.

Personally, my main has all of the iconic clothing styles that the Vault currently has to offer (or at least, I'm pretty sure). However, for those people that haven't finished those styles, have Alts, and/or make theme-based characters, they should be able to have an alternative method of acquiring these styles rather than have to hope that the RNG will favor them someday (some people have waited years for certain Vault styles to drop...).

We already have multiple ways to acquire things in DCUO. Look at Auras for example. Didn't get the Aura you might have been looking for from that Promethium Lockbox? Just buy it in the Marketplace. I see no reason why the Vault's iconic clothing style drops couldn't be done the same way, especially since they're 100% cosmetic and don't have any Feats/progression attached to them whatsoever.

People that don't want to spend money on this can still put their hopes into the Vault's RNG (if they even still need to at all), but for the people that do, SOE and DCUO can easily turn a profit by selling these items directly through the Marketplace.

    It's a win-win for everyone.
