Really? That many people are offended by 'your wifey'? People call my wife 'the better half' all the time....should I be offended?

At least it's not 'the old ball n' chain' as it would have been years ago.

Also, never hang out with bikers....you would NOT like what they call their ladies as a term of affection.

EH, I'm not particularly offended, but I think you should try to work out if terms are acceptable to those they are bestowed on. I have good friends who call each other "my lovely wifey" and "my hairy husband". Married for over 20 years, it's disgustingly cute when they do it, but it would be inappropriate to join in.
