Every year at SOE Live we offer a schedule full of panels featuring the games you love to play, games you can’t wait to play, and other burning topics any SOE Gamer would find interesting. The schedule always includes activities like Live Quests and Tournaments. Brand new this year: International attendees may participate in our Live Quests and Tournaments! Detailed rules and prizes will be posted in the coming weeks. We wanted to get this information out to you before Early Bird registration closed!

Check out the ways you can participate!

    EverQuest

EverQuest fans can participate in this year’s Live Quest where they can team up with their fellow gamers and save Norrath by closing rifts in the Plane of Time at 4:00PM PDT on Friday, August 15, 2014. Next, Death, Death, Death begins at 2:00 PM PDT on Saturday, August 16, 2014 - the return of a favorite tournament!

Close the rifts in the Plane of Time and save Norrath. The inhabitants of the Plane of Time have become immediately aware of someone or something manipulating the continuity of Norrath. Rifts have opened in this plane that lead to various places in Norrath’s past. One rift leads to place at the end of time where the shards of the world of Norrath float silently in space after a horrible catastrophe. These rifts must be closed! It will take artifacts that contain the power of the gods to close these rifts, and it’s up to our adventurers to race to collect them! But will they be fast enough? Players will form teams of up to 10 players, and complete puzzles, quests, and other challenges in an attempt to save Norrath! Teams will have a set amount of time to complete the quests and acquire all of the items needed. Winning groups will be determined by the speed in which all materials are turned in.

In Death, Death, Death, players will use pre-created characters for this event, and not their own in-game characters. Groups can only contain one of any specific class. This is a progression-based game where teams of six players have forty minutes to defeat as many boss mobs as possible. If a tie occurs, the tie-breaker will be determined by which team defeated their encounters in the shortest amount of time.

    DC Universe Online

DCUO players are in for a real treat at 5:00PM PDT on Friday, August 15, 2014. They can participate in the DC Comics Deck-Building Game (by Cryptozoic). Then at 9:00AM PDT on Saturday, August 16, 2014 it’s tournament time; which teams will be victorious in the single elimination Legends PvP tournament?

Join the DCUO Devs and players in playing the DC Comics Deck-Building Game (by Cryptozoic)! The DC Comics Deck-Building Game is a tabletop card game that lets you play as iconic DC Comics heroes and battle your friends in person. At SOE Live, we’re taking it up a notch, and inviting you to play against the members of the DCUO Dev Team! (Don’t worry if you haven’t played – we’ll teach you!)

Up to 32 two-person teams will face off in a single elimination Legends PvP tournament. Play with a friend as your favorite iconic Legends character for a chance to win serious cash. Seeding for the tournament will be based on the rankings of the Friday Night Legends Tour.

    EverQuest 2

At 2:00PM PDT on Friday, August 15, 2014 gather your five bravest companions for a challenging battle! Then, we’ve planned a murder mystery for our EQ2 folks at 4:00PM PDT on Saturday, August 16, 2014!

Pillage and Plunder is a progression-based game instance where teams of six players will have minutes to prepare their characters and thirty minutes to complete the instance as fast as possible! Are you ready for the challenge?

Teams of six players will play through a murder mystery game inspired by the in-game quest line called, “The Mystery of the Slain Scholar.” Do you have what it takes to figure out who murdered the slain scholar?

    Landmark

During Late Night Gaming on Thursday, August 14, 2014, join the Landmark community in the tournament area for a mega-build event. We’ve also planned a harvesting-themed dice tournament for our Landmark fans at 1:00PM PDT on Friday, August 15, 2014!

Join with fellow builders overnight on the first night of SOE Live for a special mega-build event! Following the Welcome Reception, head out to the Mezzanine at 9:00PM PDT to join in this special building project. This is a non-competitive event (so, no prizes), but it’s guaranteed to be an exciting adventure!

Can you harvest enough rare resources to come out on top in our Landmark dice game tournament? This year’s live quest borrows from the old dice game tradition of Farkle, but with Landmark-specific twists. Advance through the bracket for a chance to win! Spaces are limited, so make sure you get there early to get a spot in the tournament.

    PlanetSide 2

Grab your friends and jump into PlanetSide 2 for the Elite Squad Showdown at SOE Live 2014. Bring your best on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 9:00AM PDT to take on other squads in close quarter combat and you could go home with cash prizes and glory!

Now you’ve got all of the info; what are you waiting for? Go register for SOE Live now!

*Scheduling for these tournaments and other gaming events is subject to change; please make sure to review eligibility requirements.

    ?
It was like that for t4 and t5 this is nothing new.

It's a business not a charity. If they don't make money off of DCUO then the game will lose support and die anyways.

    Haha!

You don't spend money and time developing a game for people to play. You spend money and time developing a game that people will pay and play. Asking them to make the additional game content (you can play up to T3 endgame content for free) available to free people so that people will continue to play the game is like asking a lemonade stand for free refills so that people will continue to drink lemonade. Like the user above me put so eloquently, this is a business... not a charity for gamers who don't want to pay for their games.

Correct its an mmo. Massive Multiplayer Online. There are billions of people on this game and 95 percent legendary. Add all that money up for each year and your the new Richie rich.
  6. Will Power Loyal Player

Free to Play was an introduction to DCUO. After that you have to choose to stay and pay like the rest of us Subbers or buy DLCs and become premium. If they give out too many DLCs for free they are slapping in the face every premium and Legendary member in the face then they would have a major decrease in player base. Seriously if you can't part with 10.00 dollars or at minimum 15 for a sub that must mean your hard up for cash.

Yea cuz electricity bills and the workers wages just magically get paid from a completely free to play game... It's a shame that they give ya the option to pay for a game you play...

All restaurants should cater to the "l'll just have water" crowd? They don't want people for the sake of volume, they want paying customers.

So CriticalLight... are you saying that you WON'T be going to SOE Live then? Just curious...

A fine line between turning a profit and flatout extortion. While this game is pretty fun it can't honestly be compared to a mmo, as there is alot more to a mmo than just numbers, thats not what the massive in mmo stands for. In actual mmo games there are a plethora of things to do see and explore not so much in dc as your limited in content and always have been. Dc is more a arcade action game you play with friends, and there is nothing wrong with that its just for such little bang your spending a huge buck.
Dc has been out what 3+years? The mic problems are just now fixed wth lol The armory things are just a slap in the face as that should of been day 1 stuff but now you gotta pay FFxi has numerous jobs/roles no armory required just switch weapons boom done.

    Let's get back on topic...

Are we going to be playing the expansion, as well? Are we going to be able to pick our own heroes, or are they going to be randomized? I don't want to get stuck with Red Tornado, Batgirl, Green Lantern or Cyborg. Those guys suck. I call Batman or Booster Gold!

I want the Krypton family: Powergirl, Supergirl and Superman - thank you
