Birds fall faster than they fly too

I think everyone is glossing the point because it's funny to make fun of the concept.

The OP is saying when you are flying downward, it should be faster because you are increasing the speed with a downward thrust. Where normal free fall speeds, as physics states, stays the same.

It's a quirky little thing the game has. And to be honest, you can probably theorize it as since you are levitating, to go down you are fighting against your own power and thus slower than if you disabled your power.
