This has been broken for a couple of years now and nobody seems to have looked at it. Player A initiates a vote to be excused from the instance Two (alert) or Four (raid) other players vote "Yes" Vote icon disappears from remaining players' screens Player A is not removed from the instance and has to leave by just exiting and then incurs the Deserter penalty Would be nice if someone could figure out what line of code was commented out or is being skipped over.
Additionally, these votes only work when the group is full. A full group is needed to vote for a disband...
If a majority of the people in the instance at the time the vote is cast and in progress vote in favor of disbanding, the instance is disbanded. However, anyone who either failed to vote or voted "no" will be left behind in the instance... and can actually invite others into it and complete it from that point forward, receiving any and all rewards.
Can confirm, plenty of people try voting to be excused and the vote just fades, with them still stuck in the instance.
Uh, that is incorrect. You cannot initiate a vote to disband if there is a pending vote to reopen the instance because someone left. Once that vote times out, you can initiate a disband vote.
With the drop of the new DLC, use of this is up again... and is still failing. What is expected to happen: Player initiates request to be excused Other players vote Player is dropped from the instance once the vote passes What actually happens: Player initiates request to be excused Other players vote Player remains in the instance after a majority have voted "Yes" It just seems like a line of code was either deleted or commented out. Yes, I realize that you only have a one minute deserter penalty if you just walk out, but it is annoying when someone tries to do it "the right way" and then has to do it where the penalty is incurred anyway. This bug has been around for a few years now.
Any word on this? I've seen several people attempt it over the past week and express some frustration with its not working when they are told that they have to walk out and incur the penalty.
