Seems like it could be a possibility, now. Definitely something I'd love to see, too. I say go for it.

They could do taller bodies, for sure, because that would just require them to manipulate the scale of the models (think Bane in Legends when you're buffed on Venom or when you pick up a weapon in the Necropolis). But they won't be able to do different body types like "Fat" or "Ultra Skinny".

They better give us the feline personality too, if they do that

But I doubt they will, even as a MP unlock. After all, the only things that ever sell on MP are stabilizers and seasonal currency

Yeah I think it's to do with the pre-load.

They have to pre-load all the animations, effects and whatever else into the system's memory so that things work in content. Memory is finite in all situations, but there's even less memory available on the PS3, so you can't load as much into it.

I believe Spytle said in a keynotes speech that it's one of the reasons why they hadn't planned to do the last 3 powers we got, until some optimisation had taken place, which freed up enough memory for them to do Munitions, Atomic and Water (or Munitions, Serums and Atomic as was planned at the time).

I just would like some animal skins without tail & ears.
