And here. we. go. Style Unlocking will launch in phases beginning with Game Update 82.

Like how Feat Unlocking works for feats, Style Unlocking will allow you to use Replay Badges to unlock styles on one character if any other character on your account has already obtained that style.

The Style menu has been updated so that all eligible styles on your account are visible on each of your characters, along with the styles that character has already obtained. From there, you can select any style to preview it on your current character, see the Replay Badge cost, and select the Style Unlock button to unlock that style. We have also included an Unlock All option for your convenience.

Functionally, there is no difference between having obtained a style organically in gameplay and having obtained a style through Style Unlocking. Unlocking a style will complete or update any related feats automatically.

Phase 1: Game Update 82

Because there are so many styles to properly categorize, enable, and test with Style Unlocking, the ability to unlock styles will roll out over time, in phases.

The first phase of Style Unlocking will launch with Game Update 82, and will include styles found on PvE Vendors through Episode 26, styles from Booster Bundles 1-3, and styles from Time Capsules 1-3. Game Update 82 is expected to launch in the next few weeks.

We expect to continue to make more styles eligible for Style Unlocking in future Game Updates. If you are particularly wanting a certain style or type of style to come sooner rather than later, let us know.

A: We are not able to share specifics past phase 1 at this time. Let us know what you would most like to see next.

Q: Will crossfaction styles be eligible for Style Unlocking? Can a Hero unlock a Villain style and vice versa?
A: Yes. There are no restrictions expected based on faction.

Q: Will crossfaction styles complete crossfaction feats?
A: No. Feats remain restricted by faction.

Q: Will gender-specific styles be eligible for Style Unlocking?
A: Yes, but only on characters of the appropriate gender.

Q: Will Materials be eligible for Style Unlocking?
A: No. Materials are not technically styles. They do not live on the regular style interface, and including them would be an enormous technical challenge we do not expect to take on. Materials are not currently eligible or expected to be eligible for Style Unlocking.

Q: Will Style Unlocking cost less if I have already unlocked a related feat?
A: No. The cost to unlock a style will not change based on whether or not you already have a related feat.

Q: What does it cost to unlock <specific style>?
A: Costs vary considerably based on how a style is or was obtained originally. You are able to browse these costs directly in the style menu.

Q: Can I preview what a style will look like on my character before I unlock it?
A: Yes. Any styles that you are eligible to unlock will appear in your character's style menu, and selecting that style will display it on your paperdoll.

Q: It's the future, I have just logged into my character, and I see no styles eligible for Style Unlocking. Help!
A: For a character's styles to be eligible for Style Unlocking on your other characters, you must log into that character after Style Unlocking launches with Game Update 82.
