How much money did you spend on Team-Up Time Capsules?

I do, my younger brother & sister loved those things. They had those stinking stickers EVERYWHERE. LOL

I had a ton of those stickers on my door as a kid.

I always thought it would make a great movie ... wonder why they never made one.

    They never made one....

Do not speak of that abomination which stole the GPK name.

I dropped $20 the day they were released. First time I've bought any since the first capsules came out where I got a few stabilizers before realizing the drop rates were too low to be worth it.

And I had a bit of left over cash from my monthly sub, so combined I probably opened maybe 30-35 capsules?

I usually don't bother since I can just buy most everything I want in the Broker, but I got suckered in by the emblems and Arrow gear and didn't know if I'd have enough in-game cash to get it all via the Broker.

But its not something I'll be making a habit of doing.

    0 money.
I just run the event. Only get useless mods and sodas and exos whenever I open capsules so for me doesn't feel rewarding or worthy AT ALL to justify spending real money.

Marketplace on the other hand? I'd buy all those materials and styles straight from, not random lottery and prices involved.

I bought 20 keys on the original tc. Got almost every feat from them from 20 keys even sold 2 blue collections not knowing they were rare lol left game for abit and came back awhile after af3 dropped and bought 60 keys to catch up got no rares! Never bought keys again since. Unless u count the 5 monthly

yup same here, if you dislike something in a game simply dont take part in it and devs will eventually get the idea. But in this game since it has feats tied to it, ppl dont pass up on spending 1000s on each TC that comes out, and no I dont mean 1000s in-game money I mean real money.

way this game is going if you dont have very very very deep pockets or if you arent a casino addict you will lose on all cases.

$20 bucks plus using some loyalty points on stabilizers. Maybe will pop for another $20. Spent that just to sell provision capsules, emblem capsules early on to get the most out of playing the hustle on the broker. Would have been more spent just to hustle enough cash to buy negative speed force material. Since I found out it was color locked at red... Money was saved.

Color locking was a bad choice imo.

I still don't get the view of being rich will improve your toon or pay to win. What exactly do you win? There aren't that many feats tied to TC. The head mods from the first TC are the only must haves. I know NOW they are crazy expensive, but when they first dropped they werent. I bought my big gun head mod for 50k and the grand summoning head mod for 100k. None of the mods are a must have, they just help. I still don't get it. :)

But it is very cool. It is color locked, but the BEST thing it does do. Put the material on emisive eyes, it makes your eyes look like it does on the flash TV show. The flash material should be used more as an accent piece rather than all over. Changing the color would be nice, but the bolts in my eyes like the flash is good enough for me. :)

well lets start off by taking your example for instances, take ice critical bash for example shall we? If you compare 2 ppl equal skill/CR/mods/SP but the only difference is 1 is using this head mod and the other isnt guess who will win out on dmg and not by a small margin it'll be by every bit of 4-5mil when it comes to raids and 1-2 mil in duos and 3mil in alerts.

that IMO is pay to win b/c the person who paid to open that capsule vs the person who opt'd to not take part in capsules at all will always win in dmg when they implement things.

Still dont believe me? Take the henchmen (qwardian) vs the regular henchmen you can pick from. The qwardian 1s I've seen do upwards of 2k in damage each and I've never seen the regular 1s do that much damage each its usually maxing at around 1200-1300 give or take.

then theres the orbital (zues) vs the fully leveled normal orbital. Not only does zues orbital give hidden perks but it also takes a massive chunk of HP from enemies I've seen it deal every bit of 25-65% HP of enemies, hell depending on content it will even 1 shot adds. Can a reg orbital do any of that? Nope.

Then lets talk feats behind capsules this is going off the numbers based on 1st TC so its a rough estimate at best, I'll go later and count and add all TC feats and see exactly how many SP' there are currently with 4 TC in rotation.

but with the 1st TC there were 4.5sp worth of SP x that by 4 you get 18sp. Like I said I'll be adding up all feats from TC later. But 18sp sounds about right.

So just because the orbital and henchman do extra damage, that's pay to win? What if you don't dps, what are off roles winning? The feats and SP attached to them suck, yes. But 18 SP is not gonna break the game, even after revamp.

Getting a little extra damage from this and that is not pay to win. It will increase you dps numbers, but so. Only the head mod compliment's your play, the rest are trinkets.

I'm not trying to support or justify the TC. I just don't see the pay to win that everyone speaks of.

I do agree, I don't like pay to win being thrown around when it isn't deserved.

Sadly it's one of those incredibly overused terms.

No money. If i was going to spend cold hard earned cash, First i want some value for my money. Paying for a small chance at something i want, but being assured a Mainframe bot and some exos is not a gamble i am willing to take.

Quick suggestion wanna make money how about selling some actual team-ups that function like the pets and sidekicks do. I would pay cash for a Jack Ryder/Creeper team -up, or Zatanna or Lobo heck i could go on and on.

I have not spent any money or loyalty points for any of the capsules to date. Any temptation died slowly as I saw leaguemates or friends who spent the money and got little back for it. Personally speaking, I do not like spending money on "possibly & maybe getting something good."

I was grateful for the stabilizer bonus weekend, however, nine stabilizers and nothing of worth dropped so the temptation to buy dies a quick death.

I've spent neither money nor loyalty points on this garbage. I was quite neutral towards time capsules until they put the long awaited flash emblem in them, as a super rare drop no less. That was a dirty trick.

you are trying to justify it by arguing that its not pay to win at all.

And idk what game you play but this be DPSUO
  17. Black Prime OG Devoted Player

Not trying to do anything except to try and understand where the WIN comes from. If it's just damage, I get it. No one likes the idea of someone being stronger just because they bought something. But this does not equal a win.

If someone only pvps, nothing from the TC helps there.

    Healers, nothing.
    Trollers, nothing.
    Tanks, nothing.

Pay to get a little extra Dps is not pay to win.
  18. xoHLxDPSox Steadfast Player

correction, zues gives out resistant stun root and a few other things all immunity's when you use it. plus a mystery group buff I havent figured out yet. henchman gain aggro if no tank or if tank is bad to get them off troll/heal so that helps those 2 roles JS.

More then some, not as much as others.

Given the insane number of bugs in this recent update again - more feats broken, another shiny-shiny-FX update breaking other factors like brightness, the known issues Mepps posted about 30 mins after servers were up again etc. - it's pretty obvious that we all are still spending too few on TCs for the Devs to turn DCUO into some quality producte again. That or Daybreak isn't remotely interested in putting money back into DCUO at all ;)
